....If only one remembers to turn on the light! It was a 'light bulb moment' when thinking of taking a few days away following a difficult Christmas & New Year that I remembered the lovely time we shared here at Rock Cottage almost two years ago. We, my sister and I with our respective partners, booked in for a long...

We had a wonderful couple of days at Rock Cottage, in a well appointed room. Sue and Chris were very welcoming, and being greeted with a cup of tea and homemade scone after a long drive was much appreciated. The breakfast was very varied and excellent. Hope to return soon

We stayed for 2 nights with some friends who had made the booking. Sue and Chris made us very welcome. The rooms and facilities were super. Lots of thoughtful details, plenty of storage, excellent toiletries, fabulous breakfast choices. We were offered tea and homemade scones on arrival, which we had in their lovely garden.

A friend and I booked rooms to stay here during the Hay Festival and we struck lucky. The hosts, Sue and Chris, were very welcoming and they had breakfast with us every morning. That was a really nice start to each day - and the breakfasts were delicious too. Even home made bread some days...I have no complaints and would...

We felt welcome and at home here. Generous and comfortable; lovely variety of delicious breakfast dishes; every thought, down to very nice toiletries. Walks from the door, good places to eat within reach, enjoyable conversation.

Had a very comfortable stay here last week. We booked the ‘Owl’s Roost’ room which had a large comfortable bed and huge bathroom with super views towards the Black Mountains. We were well looked after by Sue and Chris, a sociable couple with a great collection of books and magazines to browse through. We had a delicious evening meal on...

I spotted a small article in the Telegraph last year which said that Chris was a keen and very knowledgeable bird man and that he would take guests on a Dawn Chorus morning so we booked a weekend in Rock Cottage. If you have never been up especially for a Dawn Chorus I urge you to do it at least...

Take a detailed map with you to get to this gem of a B&B; it's almost all single track although Rock Road itself is on the satnav; most of the surrounding roads are unnamed. The owners are friendly and very helpful, our room (Owls Roost) was spotless and comfortable, breakfast is generous. Good recommendations for local restaurants and best of...

A warm welcome to a very clean and comfortable stay. The location was close to Abbey Dore for a choral concert and there are nice walks in the surrounding hills. A very relaxing location and it was a delight to have complete silence in the evenings. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms are well appointed. The breakfast is...

“We have stayed in both rooms. The smaller one had one side of the bed next to the wall (as in the photos) so difficult to get in and out if you were on the inside. The larger one was fine but more expensive. Loads and loads of knick knacks but both very clean.”
