PORT ALBERNI

This hotel is about a 4 or 5 kilometer drive from the centre in a quiet leafy road. Friendly staff and a very nice breakfast service. The choice for an evening meal was only one busy nearby pub. My single room was comfortable, small and without bathroom so be aware of that. I think most other room had private bathrooms....

Read all the other reviews and you get a sense of the hotel, they all describe it just right. This is more like a typical British place, with small rooms, running out of hot water, older furnishings, in need of refurbishment (not just painting), squeaky floors, etc. However, the staff more than make up for all this with their friendliness...

Clean enough and great staff but could do with a decent make-over and upgrade of facilities. Not the cheapest place I have every stayed but the one night was enough for me. Some may find it ok, it just wasn't for me i'm afraid.

I was looking for a place to stay in Clifton near where my friends live. This was the cheapest of those nearby. The room I booked was £40 for a shared bathroom including breakfast, but in fact I got a single with breakfast on the second floor at the front. Very small room, but everything provided, including fresh fruit, biscuits,...

Had I been free to decide where to stay on this visit to Bristol I would have read the reviews on this property, trusted the judgement of the more seasoned reviewers and more than likely have stayed elsewhere. This property is variously described as a "whitewashed 19th-century property", "a simple B&B", "a guesthouse", "a boutique hotel" or a 2 or...

I've stayed at this hotel a number of times over the years, in my opinion this must be the best value hotel in Bristol. All the staff are very friendly and efficient, the English breakfast is excellent (especially considering it is usually included in the room rate). Rooms contain fresh fruit, biscuits and tea/coffee. I had free WiFi included too....

Stayed here twice now. My little pied a terre in Bristol. Very small room, but absolutely fine for the price. Some difficulty with the shower when I checked in but quickly fixed. Corridors and stairs somewhat labyrinthine and difficult with a heavy suitcase so not for the fat or old

I stayed at The Washington for 4 nights whilst on a course in Bristol. I had a single room at the back of the hotel on the top floor. The room was on the small side (which was to be expected) and whilst the room looked a little 'tired' I had a very comfortable stay. The room was clean, the...

Booked this hotel for one night last month. Had the family room right next door to reception and have to say, unlike another review, that we had a perfect night's sleep and there was no continual noise from other guests trooping past reception.
