The Clifton House is a Victorian villa within a quiet street in fashionable Clifton, just off of busy Whiteladies Road. It’s operated more like a hotel than a bed and breakfast. Run by a non-resident team with an overnight duty receptionist, it retains much of the personality of the latter. Although we weren’t driving, free off-street parking was offered to...

I was working in Bristol and wanted to stay somewhere a little bit nicer than a regular b&b. At £70 a night I was sure I would be getting something pretty goods how wrong was I? Had a single room (£70 per night!!!!) barely big enough to move in there. The bathroom was the same, with no extractor fan or...

We've stopped buying each other Christmas presents and, instead, treat ourselves to a weekend break. Having booked seats at the Hippodrome for the ballet I found Clifton House listed on the Visit Bristol website and what a find! It is a beautiful house with well appointed rooms and great staff. It is in walking distnace of the City Centre, the...

Last minute booking waiting for the birth of a grandchild. The price was very reasonable and the room was large, well furnished and comfortable. Parking was available. The location was quiet yet right in the centre of Bristol within easy walking distance of many sights and of course the maternity hospital! The staff were so friendly, supportive and very happy...

Located in a beautiful restored mansion in Tyndalls Park, this B&B is perfectly situated for anyone visiting Bristol. Pubs, restaurants and shopping are all in walking distance or a short cab ride from the hotel. Rooms are spacious, the staff is friendly and helpful and the full English breakfast is a great way to start the day.

Lovely, upmarket B&B. Room was warm and comfortable on a freezing night. Tea and coffee facilities, good wifi, comfy bed and hot shower. Good breakfast also and parking facilities. Paid £100 for a triple room, not cheap but worth it all in. One mark off for giving me the room adjacent to the front door meaning I heard everyone coming...

Just spent a lovely weekend at the Clifton, thanks to Tripadvisor. We wanted to stay in the area, so turned to Tripadvisor for hotels. I liked what I read, and after some more research about the location. Chose the Clifton. It's a beautiful Georgian villa, tastefully decorated in a contemporary pallet. Our room was lovely, at the top of a...

Clean rooms, friendly staff, good location, furniture/decor in good condition, quiet. Breakfast was well cooked, with a good choice. Comfy beds, lots of hot water for showers. The sash windows open which is a bonus! Overall a great B&B.

Located in the University area - so excellent for student-related visits. We requested a quiet room, and were given a semi-basement one at the rear. Good size, clean and very quiet. View of the car park - at axle-level - was not great but as it was winter and we were out all day, it hardly mattered. Room varied between...
