This pub has been completely refurbished and there is now a greater emphasis on the restaurant while retaining the pub atmosphere. The food was excellent and the two owners and a waitress all made a fuss of us all night. There are rooms here too, but we just came for a meal so cannot comment on these. We would strongly...

The food was absolutely delicious - great flavours! Nice atmosphere and friendly staff with a good selection of wines, beers and cocktails. This has only been open a few weeks since the new owners took over and they have done a great job. A few magazines have mentioned another place in the area but I would highly recommend The Crown...

Small dog friendly village pub. Good atmosphere. Accommodation available (breakfast extra). Advisible to book a table if you'd like to eat as only a limited number of covers. Reasonably tasty bar meals but portions not overly large and rather overpriced (£10-£11 for a burger and small amount of chips, £20 for steak and chips). Table of 7 who arrived 15...

Not the easiest of places to find, especially in a thick fog! The staff were very friendly and there were a significant number of locals in there which I think is a good sign. The room was typical motel type but with additional bonus of underfloor heating, a coffee machine and a small fridge with a supply of fresh milk...

Driving through The Chilterns looking for somewhere for a drink we got very lucky when we found this place. A good selection of ales and an even better one of gins in a tiny, welcoming bar with a real fire. What more could we ask?

Stayed here for 4 nights on business and really enjoyed it. There are just four rooms and a pub next door. The rooms are not fancy but they are comfortable and have most of what you would expect. The wi-fi worked well and the radiant heat was silent. Note: there is no A/C for summer months. The pub next door...

As they say in the ad, this place does exactly what it says on the tin, and it does it extremely well. It's an unpretentious and in some ways quite basic village pub with a few motel style rooms, but it has other aspects which for us made it really stand out. Although it's a favourite with the locals we...

Went away for one night to get out of the city. Small pub, but cosy with a good atmosphere. Food was great too (reasonably priced and well done). Pub staff very friendly, welcoming and helpful - other places could learn a thing or two from them! Rooms are great for the price, very comfy.

I feel compelled to review this pub after our visit on Saturday lunchtime. We were a group of 21, 10 adults and 10 children and a dog, camping in the campsite next door. We made a reservation in the week, as were were so many and pretty much took over the pub. We had to re-arrange the tables on arrival...

A friend of mine decided to host her 40th birthday party at this venue so that people who wanted to camp could do so at Home Farm Campsite which was next door, and people who wanted a bed and breakfast room could stay at the Crown. Having experienced poor B&Bs and poor pubs serving microwave food I was if I'm...
