Well placed for a base when visiting Chester. Situated in a quiet location and only 10 minutes from the town and major sites of interest. The rooms have all that you will need and the communal area downstairs is great when meeting up as a group. The staff are all helpful and pleasant. The breakfasts set you up for the...

My rating for this hotel overall would be 6.5 out of 10. Reason for this is because of a few things, we had a family room and it was ok, could have done with a bit extra dusting but the bathroom stinks! After investigation I found it to be the cushion floor? Really very off putting but the room itself...

I have always avoided small hotels and tended to stay either in upmarket large hotels or premier inns if I was on a budget, but this place really really impressed me. The rooms are not large but quirky and interesting and they are spotlessly clean, lovely sitting areas in the lobby and round the bar area and the restaurant is...

We spent the weekend in Chester recently and stayed at Brookside. From the begining to end we were treated well by all the staff. Everybody was polite and made us feel welcome. Great brekfast, clean, comfy, warm rooms and loads of hot water for baths. It's a 5 minute taxi from the centre too so it's convenient without the noise....

Just spent 3 nights here, it was great, no piped music, no live bands, just friendly attentive staff in comfortable surroundings. Only slight complaint is that the dinner menu is a little bit limited, but you don't have to eat in if you don't want to, and it's only my opinion because of my rubbish appetite - my husband loved...

The hotel as you walk in is nice, quirky even. We arived after a long trip from Kent an hour earlier but were not able to check in, so left car in the carpark & went into Chester which is a short distance away. Our room was on the top floor, advertised as a small double, once you opened the...

The search for genuine family rooms at hotels is often a difficult task, but I was really happy to find online what appeared to be a suitable hotel, just 5 mins walk from Chester's city walls with two adjoining family rooms. I called the hotel and spoke to the owner who initially told me these rooms were not available, but...

very friendly, family run hotel.Clean and comfortable, nicely thought out, with cosy sitting areas.A real treat in today's world of hotels to have a nice, hot, freshly cooked breakfast instead of a half warm buffet.Ate at the hotel on Saturday evening, and although the menu isn't vast, the food was tasty, hot, nicely presented and served. All in all a very pleasant stay, would happily stay again and recommend.
