The hosts are longtime residents of this lovely city (when you mention the name, everyone in Chester knows exactly where you are staying) and they have a wealth of very helpful knowledge which they impart to you on arrival. The guesthouse is a very elegant Victorian villa that is ideally located only a 10 minute walk from town. There are...

Thank you. It's amazing how many people enjoy stepping back in time, but blended with all the modern comforts.

We stayed here recently and were welcomed after a long journey with a refreshing cup of tea in the lounge. We could not fault the room even though it was very warm, so the addition of the ceiling fan was most welcome. At breakfast we were served politely and courteously by the owners. The choice and presentation of meal was...

We have used Mitchell's each time we have been to Chester over the last ten years - it is right up at the top of the places where we like to stay. It starts well with the welcome we receive from Helen and Colin Mitchell, and our latest visit was no exception. The place oozes elegance and style - from...

We recently spent a few very enjoyable days at Mitchell's of Chester. This guest house is the most elegant we have stayed in & spotlessly clean. Helen & Colin are very gracious hosts who made us feel most welcome. Breakfast was fantastic - plenty of food, very appetising & served on beautiful top-quality china. The way Colin waited on us...

I booked the Mitchells from the Chester,U.K. tourism website before leaving home. The reviews from the past guests have given this place many favorable comments. I booked for two nights during my recent trip to Ireland/N. Ireland/U.K.. It is a superb guest house in many ways. The owners Helen and Colin welcomed me at the day of arrival with coffee...

My wife and I think this is a beautiful family guest house, with a friendly atmosphere. We received a warm welcome from the hosts, (Helen & Colin) who served us with tea and biscuits on arrival. We loved visiting Chester, had a great night’s sleep, and enjoyed a delicious breakfast. We found the rooms very clean and tidy, and the...

We stayed there for three nights on an anniversary trip. They were such wonderful hosts and went out of their way to make sure we had a pleasant stay. They even drove us to the train station when we were running late for a tour bus. The room was so comfortable and the garden was absolutely stunning.

A lovely b&b. Helen and Colin are wonderful hosts. Rooms are always spotlessly clean and we enjoy the breakfast and service. The rooms are spacious and according to the owners they are undertaking refurbishments. which I feel is not really needed as each room we have stayed in has been lovely and quite traditional old fashioned which might not be...

Excellent location close to the centre of Chester. Room was a good size, but fittings felt a bit tired. Breakfast was nice enough, but hospitality was not gushing. A pleasant stay, but not exceptional.

We stayed at this guest house for one night over a weekend with family including our young son. we do not recommend this guest house for families with small children as the family room is on the 3rd floor and access is limited via a very steep staircase which is not suitable for the elderly or young! After spending the...

We are very sorry that you were not happy with your stay with us. We apologised for the breakfast which was immediately thrown away and replaced, and like-wise for the alarm clock that, as you suggested, may well have been switched on to the default alarm time during valeting the room. We did accommodate you by completing two rooms an...
