Upon arrival the welcome was friendly and polite.Laura in reception was very friendly and welcoming. The room we stayed in was very good, good size and the bathroom was very modern. The main attraction is the bar which is busy and buzzing with a good atmosphere.Evening staff were very good and friendly. Only reason for not giving five stars is breakfast was unorganised...

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bawn Lodge just before Christmas. We were given a warm welcome and the room was clean and comfortable. Despite being above a pub, which was very, very busy!, the room was quiet. The Lodge is within an easy walk to the City Centre ( I have osteoarthritis and I managed it...

The good - The room was clean, tidy and decorated to a high standard The not so good - The bed was too soft; appreciate that's just a personal preference though The music in the bar downstairs went on until ~1am, which was very annoying when trying to get to sleep. Ironically there is a sign on the door asking...

What a lovely, lively place! Arrived early evening & had a very friendly welcome. Staff were very pleasant & helpful. Z great buzz in the bar, full of people having food & drink. A great atmosphere! Checked into our room, a nice double with a view down the main street. Very quiet despite being facing the main road which does...

I have been to the lodge the last 3 Sundays for the roast dinner they serve and must say that it is great and plenty of. The bar has a good selection of cask beers and lagers and the staff are so pleasant I can honestly say if I was visiting chester I certainly would visit this place.

I visited the venue today on a recommendation, solely for drinks. The venue, bar and selection of beers is amazing, and I have no issue. However the venue was over run with minors. It was like being in a kindergarten. Way too many children running around the bar area. No child control from parents / guardians or bawn lodge staff....

This is a roadside pub on a main road into Chester just a 10 minute walk from the centre. We were in a room at the front of the building and there was no road noise to speak of. Despite being a main road there's hardly any traffic after 9ish. We didn't eat in the pub in the evening but...
