40 minute wait for food to arrive yet the restaurant was empty. Burger over cooked, other meals okay apart from hair in one meal. No apology by staff for long wait for food. Would not rush back here again.

Had poached salmon. Only £7.50 with side salad. Plentiful, juicy and well presented. Staff serve with a smile (a rarity in most places). Thursdays are steak & a pint for £10; also well served & excellent value

A very popular bar and hotel (see CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2015) in what is now a very popular part of Chester. Clean and well kept with a good range of locally sourced beers. Attentive and efficient staff and a decent car park at the rear. 10 minutes stroll from the railway station. Plenty of outside seating with shelter if...

Myself and my wife stayed there for 2 nights. The food was excellent and the bar stocked local cask ales. The bedrooms were well furnished and the bed had a memory foam mattress, which I found getting out of bed a bit of a challenge because the bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and the location was handy...

Visited the Bawn Lodge for an extended weekend with friends this Easter just gone. The hotel is an ideal base to visit Chester, even if the city centre is a good 15min walk away. If the weather's fine (which it certainly wasn't for us!), it's an ideal location. Our room was huge and extremely clean. The breakfasts are fine and...

My wife and I stayed here for two nights attending a celebration and exploring the city of Chester. What struck us most was the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Our room had been updated, was spotlessly clean with an excellent en-suite and modern shower. The breakfasts offered everything that you could wish for in comfortable surroundings. We enjoyed one evening...

My parents have just returned from a four night stay at Bawn Lodge. They were going to the Chester area to do the "touristy bits" and also attempt a couple of walks in the area. The first impression was great and it remained that way during the stay. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the room was perfect. The...
