I'm Cornish, we live about forty minutes drive from Mousehole, so decided to celebrate a 70th birthday at The Old Coastguard for two nights dinner, bed and breakfast. We had a long room with two patio doors opening onto a balcony overlooking the spectacular view of Mounts Bay. It was very pleasant to have a door open all night and...

Stayed here partly on business, and also just to chill out. Talk about a relaxed atmosphere, and a sense of real space. But the views out to sea were amazing, especially with a stormy sea. I liked the attention to detail everywhere, but most of all: this place could be really uppity with its awards, and the quality of the...

We've used the Old Coastguard on about ten occasions including for lunch today. It is a beautiful place to be and is at its very best on a sunny day, especially in the summer when you can eat outside and the kids can play safely in the garden. The lunchtime food is generally good - modest portions, but well presented...

This pub's lovely in summer and we especially enjoyed a drink in the beer garden admiring the view. The sea makes for a beautiful view, whether you're watching it raging in a storm or its reflecting a cloudless sky! Fantastic location. I would definitely recommend it as it's a lovely cornish pub with accommodation as well!

The prix fixe is a good deal and we had a table near to the lit log fire. Good views of the sea while we enjoyed a bottle of Greek wine, Santorini, a crisp and refreshing white. There is a Cremant de Bourgoyne but no cava or prosecco. Food is delicious, especially the puds.

Thank you for letting us know that you had a good time with us. Very happy to read of people drinking the brilliant Santorini: the Greeks are making some fabulous wine at the moment and deserve our support. Hope to see you again soon.

Arrived in a storm and taken to our lovely cosy room (5) on the top floor. Amazing views from 3 sides over the sea, the harbour and along the coast. Fresh milk left outside the door every morning at 7.30am so we enjoy a decent cup of tea/coffee. Great position for seeing the sights along the coast. Delicious food. Breakfast...

Thank you for reporting back. Delighted you had a good stay and we hear what you say about the variety of the menu. We are just two miles from Newlyn so have always tried to ensure that fish is pretty prominent on the list. However, we will usually have at least 2 main courses based on meat, game or poultry...

We stayed for a two night short break in the middle of winter to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our room was a mini-suite with a separate seating area. The bedroom and bathroom were beautifully decorated in contemporary decor with some antique furniture, and were well equipped. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room very clean. There are no TVs...

Brilliant to hear you had a good stay: the team will really appreciate reading your thoughts. You're right: not having TVs is a deliberate policy which won't be to everyone's liking but feedback over the years on the policy has been overwhelmingly favourable and along the lines you describe as "we did not miss it". We hope you can make...

Having always wanted to visit .Mousehole I booked this place upon impulse. Upon parking at the front of this property we were unsure of what we would find upon entering. Narnia! A secret hideaway. This place is amazing! We had reserved the Island Suite and being at the top of the building we had fantastic views of the bay and...
