Hotel looks ok from the outside, managed to get a parking space on arrival - think there are about 6 spaces in total. Location is spot on, 2 minutes walk away from the beach. Very happy until we went inside! We'd booked a budget room for the weekend (we always book the cheapest rooms as we try and spend as... More

Where to start? I was in room 18, and there are 4 other rooms on this floor all having to share a shower and toilet, the shower is in a terrible state and has as much power as a water pistol, as far as I'm aware there are no on suite rooms, the decor is old and decrepit all the... More

We have been every year to Cornwall but never stayed in such a lovely environment. We had our 15 year old border terrier with us and he was made very welcome. The room and bathrooms were immaculate with a lovely comfy bed and fluffy white towels. You are seconds from the beach and majority of people just walked barefoot back.... More

Lovely bar and food. Entertaining eccentric locals. Good selection of beers, should there be one you require, young Mr. John will get it for you. Lovely view of Fistral Beach. Breakfast a bit steep, but worth it.

First off if you're looking for a luxury hotel then this isn't for you but if you're looking for somewhere right on the beach with great access and parking then Surfside ticks the box. I stayed for a week and was well looked after by the people at the hotel. It's basic but has everything you need and super clean... More

We planned to visit Newquay for 6 days and looked at numerous hotels. Surfside was a few pounds cheaper than others in the area at £115 per night over the Easter weekend (without breakfast). The bookings website has this place down as a hotel with restaurant and bar. The guest house (not hotel) did not have a restaurant and the... More

First and foremost we came to Newquay to surf and bodyboard. I myself wasn't expecting anything great but feel that despite this, The Surfside Hotel has a few things that really need to get sorted for people to want to come back to it. The Lady who greeted us at reception was friendly enough and showed us to our room... More

Recently stayed at this hotel with my partner and we were both very disappointed. On arrival we were bluntly greeted and showed too our room. The room was wall too wall wood paneling and very outdated as was the rest of the hotel. Our room was very small and had a awful view into a messy back yard used for... More
