We booked this hotel for anniversary we normally go abroad but fancied something different. so as hotels go ..location very good .. friendly staff but that's about it ...when we booked we didn't realise that this was literally their last week of opening ... so this meant hardly any thing left in in the bar as everything had been pretty... Myself and my husband had a 2 night stay. We booked directly with the hotel which was cheaper than through a 3rd party. We had a sea view room which was spacious and clean. The staff were very friendly. We made use of the jacuzzi and pool which were well kept albeit slightly cold but we soon warmed up after... More

A large family group of us of all ages descended on this hotel for just one night. Having read the reviews I expected the worse.... actually not too bad. Asked about sea view rooms but were told the hotel was fully booked ( it was actually empty) so no chance of ever getting a sea view room. Room was ok,... More

Recently stayed at the Kilbirnie for 4 nights with my partner and daughter. First holiday/break we've done together. The room was spacious and clean. The staff were very friendly, especially the brunette on reception. The hotel itself is really nice also, will be visiting again. Thank you :)

My husband and I booked to stay at the Kilbirnie with our 2 dogs for a short holiday to Newquay because of its location and the facilities. The hotel is right on the coast and is easily viewable from the road. A few minutes walk from the town and 5 minutes to the nearest beach so the location was ideal!... More

Stayed for 2 nights, room very basic, bed hard but was OK for the amount of time we were in it. Swimming pool was a nice touch but best of all was the breakfast cooked to order and well presented. Carpark on site was helpful.

Booked and paid for 6 nights, left on the third day without any refunds. The place is left in 60s decor and our room hadn't been cleaned since either. The manageress, well coming from hospitality background with 30 years experience, I would have offered her a job as a prison officer. Confrontational, rude in both her body language and verbal... All the staff were welcoming, pleasant and helpful. Very comfortable, clean room with sea view and tv etc. En suite with plenty of hot water for baths/showers. Tasty cooked food, especially the fish, was always hot and served on hot plates. Choice of meals to suit all tastes. We hope to return as this type of hotel suits our requirements.
