Came for a weekend with friends, wanted something cheap, this place was just what we were looking for somewhere to sleep after a night out, bar down stairs with pool table and darts board. Yes it was a bit dated but u pay for what you get... you don't go on a piss up weekend with ur friends to sit...

A bit out of date but what a dump! This is by far the worst hotel I've ever been to. Furthermore it's the worst hotel imaginable and quite frankly it's hellish! Friends locked in rooms, awful mattresses, dirty sheets, ridiculous bathrooms with broken showers, Munster like staff, bad smells & a pikey bar. Book a room at your peril!

Having stayed at the Sutherland for 2 nights over the weekend, I don't understand why it has received the criticism it has on here! It's not the Ritz of course, but for a low cost, well staffed and convenient place to stay for a short period, it is perfectly fine. The owners and staff were all nice and helpful and...

Went for a couple of days on a cricket tour. The place has huge potential and could be very nice if it had some money spent on it and had a refurb. Unfortunately; that doesn't look like its going to happen any time soon. The hotel is dated, everything is very old. Our shower didn't work properly (dribbled out and...

I wasn't expecting much from this place as they say you get what you pay for. On arrival me and my friend were expecting to pay a final cost of 80 pound between us. We had already had paid 40 pound deposit. However on arrival we were told that it's an extra 40 pound deposit to cover damages. This is...

If your looking for a place to have a group booking then look no further.Staff couldn't have been more helpful , breakfast was spot on and drinks were cheap.I looked around at many hotels and this was the first to say that we are not the Ritz but welcome group bookings hassle free.Booking was easy with a small deposit and...

Me and 4 mates stayed at this hotel and the condition of the place is absolutely appalling. Broken beds, general dirtiness and a toilet that leaked from the bottom. The place could do with a massive rework! However the staff made the stay bearable along with the locals. Brilliant people and so friendly. I definitely wouldn't recommend staying in the...

I don't understand the negative reviews, were they expecting the Hilton?! This hotel is cheap and cheerful, I don't go on holiday to spend all day in a room and I don't like spending a fortune for a bed for the night. Prices are excellent here and left plenty left over for day trips, and to spend in the bar...
