Promised much , sea view , with balcony, en suite, but the musty smell on entering the main lobby just about summed up the hotel. Staff were pleasant enough, but the place has certainly seen better days, Room adequate size, but bathroom grotty with hair in the bath plug hole, hot water in the sink that was a delightful shade...

My partner had innocently booked this hotel for a Champagne Candle lit dinner B&B from a newspaper promotion with the idea of it being a bit of a treat. Sadly he'd not read the reviews or he would have saved his money. We're both Cornish and it is so frustrating to find hotels like this still operating in this day...

Hotel has a beautiful outlook across the Estuary down to the Sea. Staff friendly, but the place needs lots of maintenance & TLC. Restaurant menu very limited - main course choice = 1 fish/ 1meat/ 1 vegetarian, told no alternative starter for diabetics. Breakfast good. Bedrooms average size but dated & extractor fan in bathroom very noisy.

Had a very poor experience at his hotel. Booked specifically because of the pool and bowling alley. On arrival was told the pool had a leak and this was being investigated, then found out that if the pool was ok it would only be open from 10-12am and 4-6pm so our hope of a morning swim before breakfast and a...

Just had my 4th stay at the Hotel California and I feel I must say I don't understand some of the poor reviews. The decor is a tad dated in some places but it isn't a 5 star hotel ( and some of those are a bit ropey!) and it does what it says on the tin. And this is...

We arrived in Newquay early, our room wasn't ready at that time but they took our mobile number and said they would call when it was so we walked into Newquay and had a look around, 4 hours later we still hadn't heard anything so decided to walk back anyway and were told on arrival that our room had been...

You can see this was once a very nice and well equipped hotel. This is now a run down place where the staff are doing their upmost to try and work with what they have got. It looks like the hotel was taken over by someone who decided to drain the money out of it instead of investing in it....

I had read all the reviews of this hotel before I booked for a one night stay with my 15yo daughter and her friend for a last minute get away before the girls went back to school. My husband had also stayed there a few years previous and had said it was the worst hotel he had ever stayed at...
