Checked into room 1 .. It's right at the front of the hotel. If your a light sleeper forget it. The road noise is very noisy. The window doesn't stay open if you want to let some fresh air in. The window also rattles. The two single beds are comfortable, but my pillow wasn't so comfortable. It was very hard.... More

Total disaster... we went there with friends, which was a huge mistake. Our rooms were filthy. I don't even know where to start... the mouldy bathroom sealing, hair in the bath and ON THE PILLOWS! The whole room was dusty, the nightstand probably had not been dusted for months! After seeing all that we weren't sure if the bed sheets... More

Very nice pub with a large selection. Average service all around. Our room was open so the did let us check in very early. That was very much appreciated. Top floor rooms were a little on the loud side. Must be no insulation between the walls and the macerator pumps will let you know what your neighbors are up to.

The close proximity to the train station, buses, shops etc made my first visit to Cornwall Such a memorable one. The manager and staff were most polite and helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean and provided amenities like LCD TV,hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities, which were most appreciated! Also ,the ensuite bathroom was an added bonus. The "Golden Years" menu,in addition... More

The Staff that greeted us seemed fine as did all the staff !! Our room was grim - clean sheets and towels - but under the bottom sheet was a stained mattress cover (blood) only noticed this on our departure - bathroom was dire, floor was dirty in the corners, the washbasin plug was blocked and the shower curtain smelt... Well, okay for one night, and also funny after a while. Let's start with the negatives: The bath has an electric water transfer pump, which is very loud, and scares you a lot, when it suddenly starts during toothbrushing or other bathroom activities. The walls are very thin, you can clearly hear the water pump AND the bathroom activities of... More

we visited for tea after a day out on the train. we just called in without booking and ate in the bar, which we prefer anyway. There was just over half an hour wait, which was explained when we ordered due to us not having booked and it being busier than usual. The food was well worth the wait, cooked... More

This hotel is very conveniently located next to the coach/bus/rail hub. So ideal to save walking or taxi fares. The room was freshly decorated so I guess all the poor reviews about the place has since been rectified. However there was an odd smell as if a damp source hasn't yet been located. Other than that it was good. The... More

People complain about dirty hotels, I think that sometimes they are being a little picky. Not this time . I booked for 5 nights but did not complete my stay because the room, and particularly the bathroom was filthy, with mould and stray pubic hairs all over, . I wonder if that room had ever been cleaned at all since... More
