Delicious food, including a range of pub classics and some nice seafood dishes. A particular highlight is the "sizzler" dishes which are very tasty and arrive in spectacular fashion. The usual St Austell ales are available on tap at the bar, though the drinks can be a bit expensive when compared to other pubs in the area. A comfortable and...

The Dolphin - a very comfortable and well appointed hotel that we stayed in overnight whilst enroute to the Isles of Scilly. A very comfortable room, well furnished, right down to the perfect touch of bottled (still & sparkling water provided. The staff could not have been more helpful or polite. Our use of the tester aunt confirmed how good...

Really nice sea view from our room which was big including a bath. The breakfast was also good. Staff were friendly and helpful, would definitely recommend. Also super close to the ferry that goes over to the scilly islands. Cons- toilet made noise throughout night and squeaky bed.

We had a great meal, very reasonably priced, lots of choice of traditional pub food. The decor is very cosy and the service was good. Would highly recommend. It did get quite busy so booking in high season is probably a good idea.

My partner and I booked to stay here at the end of our holiday. The pub is old school and very cosy. The staff are friendly and really made us feel welcome. Our room was at the top of the stairs (I think it was called longboat or something similar) and we had a good view of the harbour. The...

I stayed at the Dolphin Tavern in a harbour-view room for 4 nights whilst I ventured out daily to tackle sections of the South West Coast Path. The Tavern turned out to be a a delightful and integral part of the whole adventure. The team on duty whilst I stayed there were clearly empowered to run the show and were...

This B&B exceeded our expectations, considering the pub is 500 years old, the bedroom/bathroom were modern, clean with unexpected extras like; hairdryer, alarm clock, tissue box - personal touches you don't usually find in hotels. We were in the 'longboat room' which overlooked the harbour and in the morning we had a fabulous view of St Michael's mount. Plenty of...

The other positive reviews say it all: our room was huge and despite the location on a main road, traffic noise was not a problem. Super-clean and luxurious touches in bedding, toweks and toiletries. Excellent food: fish locally sourced and delicious. An authentic pub which is very welcoming to non-locals: would highly recommend a stay here. Penzance has much to...
