We stayed for 3 nights at the keep and from the moment we arrived till the time that we left we were thoroughly looked after. We had booked both rooms as we went with my elderly mother and I have to say this was a perfect location for her as it was all on one level, both rooms were superb...

What a delight to find The Keep. Superb room (Pitchard Press), decorated to a high standard with a luxurious and comfortable bed. Carol and Mike were all you could ask for in hosts, helpful and informative, a pleasure to chat with. Breakfast was just as lovely, but the 'personal little touches' are what make this place feel very special. I...

Had a really wonderful stay for 3 nights in the Keep. The location is amazing with the Tate and the beautiful beach less than a minute's walk, and yet it felt a very peaceful cottage. The Pilchard's Press room was a lovely mixture of modern and charming and was quite a good size. Carol and \Mike are really helpful and...

An amazing location. A magical mystery tour through the town to get there! Now we know where we're going we will be back. St Ives is beautiful and we were very lucky with the stunning weather. Carol & Mike were very welcoming with a fabulous sense of humour! Our room was clean and relaxing. The entrance to the 'Keep' was...

Can't say enough about our stay with Carol and Mike. Location was perfect, food was delicious and the bathroom was one of a kind! Their warmth and kindness made our special anniversary trip something to remember. This is definitely a "Keeper". Linda and Pete California

It was brilliant to be back after two years. Being welcomed with a special treat and so much warmth by Carol and Mike we really felt like coming back to a place you have known for long. The weather was perfect, so we enjoyed long walks, the beaches, the sunsets, the food and of course our suberb rooms and the...

An absolute gem of a find. The hosts Mike and Carol were fantastic. The accommodation itself is first rate, the word opulent springs to mind. The breakfasts, especially the daily specials, were cooked to perfection. Located within around a minutes walk from the nearest beach with its excellent sunsets just added to The Keeps appeal. Without doubt we will return....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
THE KEEP B&B occupies a unique, central position tucked away in the heart of coastal St Ives, only a few yards from Porthmeor Beach, The Tate, and the town itself. With no passing traffic at all, THE KEEP, a tasteful 16th Century Pilchard Press conversion, offers a rare sense of peace and quiet, although the amenities, restaurants and coastal walks are right on our doorstep. Our guests have a choice of just two individually designed bedrooms, each with spacious modern en suite drench showers, flat screen TVs, free high-speed WiFi, underfloor heating and King-size beds (one a romantic four poster). Enjoy a delicious locally-sourced breakfast in what used to be the central, now glass topped, courtyard, then step outside and explore. ... more   less
