Everything about that hotel was perfect! Amazing building, perfectly preserved with respect to the original architecture and design. Clean, quiet with comfortable beds. Everyone was polite. It was like traveling back in time. I loved everything about it including the breakfast and the price.

Very unorganised, manager didn't help his staff when they where struggling , food was not very nice, and the room we were put it was absolutely freezing and they had no idea how to change it, plus side was that the bar staff were excellent couldn't do enough for you.

This Hotel looks very grand from the outside and is continually decorated and upgraded on a rolling programme. We met the decorator who is permanently employed to decorate! Being an old building it does have its problems, the floor creaks badly and noise from other rooms can be a problem at times, but I still have a real soft spot...

A grand old hotel, with a lot of history, understandably it's in need of some tlc in places. Don't let this put you off as this is part of its charm. The rooms are large, the staff are excellent (very friendly, and can't do enough for you) Parking is free, although I would advise getting there as early as possible...

Stayed here following an event and thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed in room 416 and were very pleasantly surprised with the size and style. The bed was comfortable and the room was just the right temperature (always a bugbear for me). Despite being on the roadside of the hotel it was incredibly quiet! Breakfast was lovely, I had a full...

We booked this hotel for a change from the usual B&B's we generally use when we visit Plymouth. It looks very grand and quite special from the outside and the entrance hall so we hoped the experience would match. It didn't. The wallpaper and multitude of clashing patterns in the room was epic. It hurt my eyes. The room was...

Stayed for one night on business. Had a single room that was a little small but adequate. Nice and clean but the downside was a difficult shower (via the bath mixer). It was either scalding or too cold and temperature fluctuated while in use, tiny towels and also no air con and the room was very hot. Food was good....

Booked this hotel for a one night stay when we were going to see Riverdance not realising it was opposite the theatre - fantastic! On arrival we were greeted be a very pleasant receptionist and everything explained to us. Both our rooms were lovely and clean and well appointed. We had dinner in the restaurant which was very good -...

I stayed here whilst on business in Plymouth. I stayed on the first floor, next to the lift and over looking the street. Initially this filled me with dread as I struggle with my sleep especially in new places. I actually found the bed comfortable and tempreture of the room just right resulting in a very good nights sleep. The...

Probably the best hotel experience we have had and there have been many, the hotel is a Grade 11 listed building so like the Forth Bridge will always require maintenance and perhaps the bedrooms would benefit from a daily vacuum but given that, the rooms were absolutely charming and well appointed but the best things about this hotel are the...
