Close to Mount Batten with super views across the sound, the Hoe and Sutton harbour, the location is a special one. The Boringdon Arms is a characterful traditional no nonsense pub, close to the water with sea views from 1st floor rooms. We had room 4, being a good size with nice views and a comfortable bed. It feels basic...

This pub has only  been in the hands of Greg and Sue since June 2016. When they took over the pub had been allowed to slide somewhat. But in 10 months Greg and Sue have transformed the place. The rooms are clean and tidy, they are exactly as advertised. This is down to Sue who runs a tight ship, and...

An ideal holiday place for a group such as divers or walkers. Good freshly cooked food. Great beers and 18 gins. Clean fresh rooms. Outside areas at the rear for families. Theme nights for food. Great breakfast. Nothing is too much trouble. Sue and Greg have turned it into a gem. Thank you for making us most welcome for our...

It's the first time I have been since it reopened just under a year ago and after having an amazing home cooked meal I wish I had visited earlier. The landlord was very pleasant and the pub was very warm and cosy. The pub also had a lovely selection of ales I will definitely be catching a taxi or bus...

This is a review of the pub rather than any rooms. Simple menu of burgers and dishes on blackboards. Better than average and reasonably priced. Good beer. Good vibe. Packed when we went but everyone clearly having fun. Cottage pie was great; steaks looked good. Some resort to freezer staples but acceptable nevertheless.

Stayed in a cottage close to this pub for the weekend. Had a very enjoyable Friday evening when there is a selection of curries added to the menu. Very tasty and good value. Nice range of Devon and Cornwall beers. Service friendly and attentive. We went back for drinks a second time!

We stayed for a week at a holiday cottage in Turnchapel and this quickly became our pub of choice for evening meals. Home cooking and fairly simple pub fare but cooked really well and terrific value in an area that can be expensive. Impressive vegetarian choice and the home made pies on pie night are stunningly good. Good choice of...

Just back from lunch at the Bori. Probably our closest pub and we've been in for a pint on a few occasions and always found it friendly. Had meant to eat there so tried the roast with a 2 for 1 voucher from the Herald. Very impressed- tasty meat with plenty of veg on offer (not that they're my thing!)....

The Boringdon Arms has had a bit of a poor run over the past few years and consequently the appeal of this typical village pub has declined. Luckily fortunes seem to have changed and having just had a delicious lunch, I am pleased to write this positive review. The standard of the food has improved dramatically and the overall decor...
