Not sure if what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised on arrival. Staff on reception were swift. Room 410 was a little dated but spotlessly cleaned. The room was quiet and we slept like logs. Bathroom was fine. I was so impressed with the facilities, it is a true hidden gem.

Thank you for your review, I’m sorry to read that your room wasn’t cleaned properly; I am however glad that this was dealt with swiftly. In regards to the comments regarding the Entertainment I would like to mention that we are a Family Resort and children are catered for during the holiday periods which they can enjoy before Bingo. Bingo is a very popular segment of the evening and only lasts 30 minutes and in fact we had to secure extra space for the amount of people that came to enjoy this, I do understand that this isn't for everyone. I hope you found the Entertainment after 9.00pm to be more to your liking, this ran on till 3.00am for the guests that really wanted to welcome in the New Year. Again thank you for your review. Kind Regards,

The Derwent Hotel has over 170 bedrooms and it always depends on what particular facilities you require as to what may be called a “good room”. For example; are there any mobility issues, do you require a walk-in shower, is a view important etc. We have been using this hotel for over 15 years and have always booked directly. The reservations office that take the bookings will always give advise and try to meet your requirements. I hope this helps.

There were no fridges in our rooms in July but we all had single rooms. Best check direct with the hotel.
