we booked a stay here for the' we'll meet again' 1940' experience and arrived on 25/feb.
Our reception was efficient as opposed to warm and we had a room on the ground floor. The room was adequate in size and well presented with a modern en -suite bath room with good shower.room was well furnished with plenty of storage and comfy bed, clean though little on the warm side, there was a ceiling fan to counter this if you prefer it a little cooler.
From our dining experience we can offer the highest praise both at evening meal and breakfast, plenty of choice , quick service by staff for whom nothing was to much trouble, all in all a very enjoyable dining experience.
The entertainment offered of an evening was of the highest quality, great comedy mixed with popualar music of the 1940's, with a little visit to the 50' and 60' thrown in,well done to all involved in providing a feel for what the era was like , it would be a shame if as rumoured the hotel dicontinued the 1940's breaks, based on our experience they are great fun and a real pick me up in the depths of winter.
The hotel is quite an old building and must need constant care and attention but is more than capable of providing enjoyable experieces and superb value for money, we especially enjoyed the occasional quiet time in the lovely Windsor lounge, we have no hesitation in saying' We'll meet again' sometime soon!

Just want to say a huge “Thank You” to the management & staff of The Templestowe Hotel, Torquay for another fantastic stay
xx❤️xx We were given a very warm welcome by the cheerful Reception staff Fiona & Sophie xx❤️xx Our rooms were extremely comfortable, warm, well equipped and spotlessly clean with an amazing view cross the bay xx❤️xx
The varied & extensive menu prepared by Chef Paul was absolutely delicious every mouthful tantalised the taste buds! In the dinning room we were looked after by the friendly team under the supervision of Karen & Kate. Our waiters Doug, & Israel catered to our every need xx❤️xx The smiling bar staff were absolutely awesome too!
Paul Lane presented the entertainments programme which was sensational! ... the professional acts delivered floor shows worthy of the West End. Steve Laister, Lindsey Collard, Graham Clow Lisa Lane, the exquisite dancers Signature Rouge and many many more entertained the guest throughout our stay. We even met up with the ever popular & talented comedian Dean Winter for a drink and a yarn which added to our fantastic few days! Totally awesome... thank you all xx❤️xx Highly Recommend this totally amazing and great value for money hotel ❤️

Just spent an enjoyable week at The Templestowe Hotel 25th - 29th Oct. I went with my sister and brother in law, didnt know what to expect.
The checking in was quick.
I had a lovely single room overlooking the swimming pool, it was a nice surprise to find the shower had a bathmat makes you feel secure and also shower gel and hand wash which I wasn’t expecting.
The Dining room was lovely we had the same table for the week the food was delicious and plenty lots of choice and our waiter James was lovely he really looked after all our needs for breakfast and evening meal ‘Thanks James’ nothing was a problem he brought all our meals quickly piping hot.
The entertainment was hilarious just wished we could have met Steve to tell him, we had bingo each night too and a free bar between 7-11 every night.
Trips out during the week with our driver Nick
Everyone in the hotel was friendly
We are definitely planning another trip

We had room 207 which looked over the Bay, food was good and our server Kate was very good and friendly, the hotel had only just opened after COVID 19 lockdowns. There was hand sanitizer throughout the hotel, a new dance floor had been laid although we could not use it because of social distancing. The drinks were delivered to the table which you were allocated, Tom and Jamie were 2 of the waiters who worked very hard throughout our stay. The whole team did very well, the entertainment was tops with live music and cabaret with comedians and of course the entertainment team a fantastic weekend was had by all and we look forward to our next visit to the hotel.

Staff are all friendly and helpful . Hard working with nothing too much trouble . Hotel is not 5 star but very comfortable and well laid out .We were fortunate to stay in room 206 which is spacious with lovely view especially on a clear sunny day . Entertainment both afternoon and evening, bingo, quiz comedy and music, fabulous dancers too ,all really enjoyable. Regret not buying dvd's that were for sale of the "New year's Eve" night as everyone was crying with laughter .Weekend theme was Christmas so hotel full of beautiful decorations and of course non stop Christmas music could be heard helping to create a happy atmosphere .As this weekend was to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday I asked some of the staff to help me by decorating our table and surprised Mike with everyone singing Happy birthday (several times throughout the day/evening) Hotel gave him bottle of sparkling wine too so all helped to make Mike feel special . We were with coach party from Majestic for first time and luckily were surrounded by friendly comical people from various areas of south wales/west who all seemed to agree that we had great value for money and everything from food to service was top class .

Warmly welcomed by reception staff and was soon in my room. I had paid £5 per night extra for a room with sea view and it was a lovely, sunny south facing room overlooking the pool and with a view of the bay. It had a modern TV, comfortable bed and two easy chairs and was nice and warm. The bathroom had a built in shower and there was a constant supply of hot water. Everything was spotlessly clean. There was a lift to all floors. The restaurant staff were very friendly and efficient and there was a good choice of well cooked food. The evening entertainment was very good and much enjoyed. I can certainly recommend this hotel and hope to return soon.

Just arrived home after a fantastic weekend break, second time to visit this hotel and we'll re-booking again, we cannot thank all the staff enough, from the cleaners to the management, a special thanks to Karol our waiter in the restaurant for his professional approach to detail and his brilliant sense of humour, also a special thanks to the bar staff for their patience during this busy weekend, they were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble for them especially Nick and Jamie.

The entertainment team worked their socks off to bring us top notch comedy and music shows, and a big thanks to Steve and the team for that

There was a good selection of meals at breakfast and at evening dinner and were of good quality and amount.

The hotel is an older type building but it is kept extremely clean by the hard working cleaning team, and are always at hand if needed

To sum up, the hotel is in a perfect location to walk into the centre of Torquay, with excellent value for money for a short break with fantastic entertainment and great food, and a bonus of having genuinely polite and professional service from all the staff

We’ve just spent 5 days at The Templestowe with my mum and dad. They’ve been several times before, this was our first. We all had an absolute blast from start to finish. Lovely food, a really good selection on the menu, even my vegetarian daughter found the choices decent. Good selection of drinks at the free bar which was 7-11pm but even during the day if the kids wanted soft drinks and we had coffees, the prices were really reasonable, unlike most hotels who charge the earth! The swimming pool is lovely and was never crowded. The evening entertainment was brilliant - Steve Laister, the comedian and singer was hilarious and he was there 2 nights which was a bonus! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. In fact they went above and beyond our expectations. The bar staff, waiting staff, cleaners and Receptionists were chatty and made us feel really welcome. Our rooms were spotless and the beds really comfortable.
The only gripe is that when mum booked she asked for a room suitable for a wheelchair user but found they couldn’t get the wheelchair through the bathroom door as it was quite narrow and it was very difficult manoeuvring the wheelchair around the bed and furniture had to be moved. Luckily our family room was huge and the bathroom door wide enough for the wheelchair so dad could shower if he wanted. The hotel was fully booked so they couldn’t change rooms but we managed. This is the only thing stopping me giving 5 stars but it’s a solid 4.5/5 from me! I can’t wait to go back again and will be booking soon.

And we can't wait to see you again! Our apologies over the issue with the wheelchair. We are trying to upgrade rooms where we can to make them more accessible. Usually, we have no issues, but this year we have been full from July and continue to be so all the way into October - it does sometimes create difficulties in allocating rooms. However, we are taking your points on board and will work tirelessly though the winter to ensure we have more suitable rooms for all. Brilliant to know you all had a wonderful holiday.

This was our 3rd visit to The Templestowe and I have to say the least enjoyable. I am not sure whether it was because of the time elapsed since the real Christmas or the fact that the hotel was nowhere near full. The staff and the entertainers were as usual their warm, friendly and helpful selves. The show on the last night, I cannot get used to calling it New Year’s Eve, was absolutely superb. The food was of a high standard again as usual and the waiters were their usual efficient selves. Our room was very cold on our arrival but a quick word at reception saw the provision of a stand-alone heater provided in short time. Another example of the hotel’s efficiency. I would also emphasise that when you have a “complaint “ or problem always ask the hotel as soon as possible and don’t winge about it in on sites such as these. Overall though all 8 of us enjoyed ourselves and we have all agreed that we will visit next year for We’ll Meet Again. We may also go to the Turkey And Tinsel Weekend before Christmas as well.

Thanks Alan for the positive review. It is true, we have not been as full as usual. We found that Brexit and the elections had an impact on our January/February sales (as indeed have most hotels across the country). Now that's all in the past, things are looking rosy and the atmosphere is buzzing as usual. Looking forward to seeing you in November/December.

Hi Barb. I believe you have us mixed up with Majestic Tours of Wolverhampton. We are from Teignmouth, Devon. we do not do day trips. However, we do coach holidays from Stoke and can add pick-ups from the M5/M6 services. e.g. Hilton Park or Frankley.
