Astor House Apartments is frequently celebrated for its contemporary aesthetics and cozy atmosphere, complemented by impressive views, though few note the rooms can be overly bright. The hotel's cleanliness is consistently lauded, with guests appreciating the immaculate conditions. Its prime location earns high marks for convenience and tranquility. Amenities are well-regarded, offering clean, well-equipped spaces.
However, some guests feel the value is diminished by issues such as uncomfortable bedding, despite the allure of balconies with stunning vistas. Rooms are generally spacious and modern, yet occasional dust and brightness may detract from the experience. Service is mostly applauded for its cleanliness and helpfulness, despite some reports of inconsistency.

We stayed in flat 16. We found the flat and communal areas impeccably clean with plenty of sanitiser stations around. I’m a real clean freak so always take sanitizer wipes with me on holiday but I didn’t feel the need to use them as it felt very safe and clean.
The flat is fabulously appointed with modern furniture and a view to die for.
The view comes at a cost with lots of steps/hills to get to the building so not suitable for the less mobile.
All communication with the housekeeper Rachel was lovely and friendly. I would definitely recommend the apartment to friends and family.

These apartments must be one of Torquay finest, they are located on the hillside overlooking the bay, they are furnished to a very high standard with everything you need, the view is stunning there is also parking available on the road outside.
A very short walk away are some lovely restaurants and also the The Princess Theatre.
The train links are great with the station being within walking distance located next to The Grand Hotel we traveled by train to Totnes and Paignton which was quick and easy, the buses also run to both of these towns and many others.
It’s also an easy walk to the town centre where there are a variety shops including Hoopers which has a lovely restaurant on the top floor with views of the harbour.
This was our third stay and we look forward to many more, it’s so easy to book on the plum locations website, l highly recommend this property.

I am currently staying at Astor House and the apartment is fantastic. It's modern, spacious and so comfortable. The House Manager Rachel is amazing and works so hard to make sure you have a great stay. All staff I have met have been brilliant. I have stayed in sea view and town facing apartments and they both have the same level of comfort and quality. The town facing apartments do have access to the garden area where you can enjoy the views. There really is an apartment to suit everyone here. I feel it offers great value for the location and size of accommodation compared to standard hotel rooms. Check-in is contactless and very easy. Astor House has the most breathtaking views off the bay that you could look at all day long. The location is perfect for accessing the beach, marina, town and Princess Theatre and it has the added benefit of a great choice of places to eat and drink right on the doorstep. I would really recommend a stay.

We had a 5 night stay in Apartment 7 on Oct '20. The view that greets you upon entering the apartment is the money shot! Perched on the cliff overlooking the bay it's a view we would never tire of with the tide going in and out, the changing weather and colours, boats, cruise ships and daily swimmers even in October.
The apartment is nicely finished and modern, much more spacious than the pictures portray. The bedroom was quiet and calm, the soft double bed was fine for my Wife but too soft for me so I opted for the sofabed, happy to sleep with the view. The kitchen and bathroom are well equipped and modern. The wifi was a little patchy at times but always reconnected quickly. We parked on Warren Road and chose to ensure we kept our parking space so walked into town each day rather than drive. It is very hilly with a lot of steps to get down to the beach and prom which are fine but a bit of a trial slogging back up! Lovely stay in a clean moden apartment with a priceless view.

Absolutely deviated when we arrived we couldn’t believe it was advertised as beach view however the only view we had was cars outside parked against an old stone wall and a dirty balcony out the bedroom window which we had no access to.
The apartment was nothing like the photos advertise and the area in the garden supposedly available to use has to be accessed through a door leading into someone’s balcony of which the door once closed you could not open again .
I definitely would not rate this more than a three star it’s ok but attention to detail isn’t there and when we complained we were fobbed off and told to complain to booking.com.
If you don’t like steps I would advise stay well clear as the apartments are on different steep stairs.
The gardens weren’t exactly clean and there was not enough furniture for all the apartments. It was ok for a bed for the night.
We could hear the neighbours tv and the food of there cooking was coming into the apartment . I don’t think there was any sound proofing whatsoever.
The shower is made for super slim people so if your bigger than mr muscle off the tv advert you haven’t got a chance of getting in the shower or out for that matter.
The electrics hadn’t been checked as some lights didn’t work in the apartment and to be honest with covid I thought it should have been spotless however dust in places it shouldn’t have been.
No one came to see us when we rang to complain we had to wait for a phone call and staff were not sure when it would be.
This is not a business it’s grab your money and we don’t care attitude
I don’t foresee us staying there again to be perfectly honest.
Don’t be fooled by the beautiful pictures it isn’t of the apartments we stayed in advertised anyway!

We are very sorry for the disappointment with this apartment but we do advertise that although most of our apartments do have sea views there are three apartments with town views available for a lower price. Guests are all reminded to check their bookings carefully on our own website well before arrival to ensure expectations are met. Guests are also asked to report any problems on arrival so they can be dealt with as it isnt possible to deal with them so long after departure. It is not our policy to offer refunds in response to threats of reviews.

Stayed in Apartment 16. Good location with stunning views across the sea. The accommodation was spotless and comfortable. As this was a self catering apartment I googled to see if washing up facilities were provided but couldn’t find the answer so I took my own. I can now say, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, cloth and tea towel were all provided together with tea, coffee and 2x pints of milk. Thank you. The soap and shower gel smelt gorgeous (like Molten Brown). We found the parking in Warren Road a bit tight and had to drive around the block to find a space, however once parked up we didn’t use the car for 4 days as we used the ferry and train to get around. The weather was great so all in order we had a wonderful stay. We are looking to book again for next year.

We stayed in apartment 3. This was a amazing apartment with astonishing view of Torquay. The furniture was very stylish and boutique style, spotlessly clean and the kitchen was very well equipped. The managements was so nice to respond to queries and even sent extra towels without requesting. I will definitely book again.

Contactless check-in was easy, the apartment is very clean and feels like home, very comfortable. We’re in a dog friendly apartment, a dog bed, blanket and bowl were supplied for our dog, also there’s a balcony leading to an enclosed garden which is very convenient. The apartment itself is located on top of the hill with a beautiful sea view, and also easy access to the beach and harbour. We are very happy that we picked Astor house for our first visit to Torquay.

The apartments DO NOT look like the images they have put up. Be careful of the manager she is very rude and dangerous. The day we arrived we were told the wardrobe was broken and they will get someone to fix it. No one arrived. The apartment was very dirty and everything looked very old. There were stains on the carpet and walls. On our last day they tried to charge us ÂŁ500 for the stains on the floor and walls. Luckly, the day we had arrived we took a video of the apartment which showed there were stains on the carpet and wall before us. We didnt even get apology for the false allegations they had against us.
Afterwards the manager raised another false allegations stating that we have spiled something onto the sofa bed. The sofa bed that we never used. The owner of the apartment this time tried to charge us 175 pound for the sofa cover which you could buy a brand new sofa cover for less than 50 pound.
They had ruined our holiday and made our last day miserable.
People please be CAREFUL of this scam. The manager and the owner work together in this money scam. They will do anything to take your money. Make sure you take a video of everything on your first and last day at the apartment.

These are the notes made on these young guests when this incident occurred early last year: "...this included extensive urine staining on the bedding, sofa and rug, spoiled mattress protector and difficult staining on the wall of unknown material. This has resulted in guests booked for today being unable to stay there until extensive deep cleaning has taken place". The Housekeeper was very upset due to the rude and aggressive attitude of these people. The guests were charged for damages in accordance with our terms and conditions and have been banned from staying in any of our properties again.

Service and presentation of the apartment cannot be faulted. The apartment was of a high quality finish offering tremendous views of the Torbay coastline towards Paignton and Brixham. Astor House is located close to all of Torquay’s local amenities and attractions with bus stops and the railway station only a short walk away. Due to Astor House’s location on Warren Road travellers should take into account that it can get fairly steep returning on foot to the apartments. This is offset by accessibility to the picturesque Rock Walk via a garden gate allowing quicker and easier access to the property. We will no doubt return to Astor House for future Torquay holidays.

Unfortunately not. Location is very hilly, hence the wonderful views. OK if you use your car/taxi, but not good for wheelchair users/people with mobility problems.
We have a two bed with balcony and sea view available for four of your days at ÂŁ707 - let me know if you are interested.
Yes you have booked a ground floor apartment.
about 40 mins walk along sea front then a very steep climb up to Warren Road. Suggest a taxi unless your are extremely fit and only carrying a back pack.
There are about 5 parking bays at the front of the house - you need to book one when you book your accommodation. If there are none available when you book, there is roadside parking by the house but you'll have to take pot luck on how close you can park.
