The hotel is traditional and the fresh coats of paint have cheered the place considerably. The food and service are both excellent. It was nice not to have a buffet service breakfast (except for the cereals, fruit juices etc.) and the staff lovely and well trained. Our room was sea view, very quiet, comfortable, clean and well appointed, though some...

The reception, bar and dining ares were very good. the staff were lovely. Unfortunately our room was on the second floor, a lovely view of the bay towards Torquay Town, but the room overall was dark and gloomy and tired. There was not room for a double and single bed, but that is what was there, consequently my partner did...

We stayed one night as part of a large group for a private evening dinner and dance. I was not overly impressed with first impressions at reception and the room we were given looked very 1980's with an avocado green bathroom, having said that it was clean and tidy, The highlight was our 5 course evening meal which was delicious,...

My single room didn't have a sea view which would have been perfect, but it was quiet and comfortable. Being a corner room it had a fire escape therefore was a...

I was a guest at an annual Dinner Party on Friday 21st Nov and we had an excellent meal and the staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble, a very enjoyable and memorable experience and the view across the bay is good, especially at night!

Some hotels are on an upward trajectory, some are heading downwards. Sadly, this falls in the latter category. The rooms are tired, the food is not as good as on previous visits and the maitre'd still thinks it amusing to address adults as 'young man' and 'young woman'. After hearing this for three years, the joke has worn thin. Outrageous...
