We stayed at Orestone for the New Year. It is a lovely country house hotel with great coastal views and large individually furnished rooms. The NYE function was excellent with an Asian theme. It was really nice that there were individual tables and no need to sit on large tables. Food and service was all of a very high standard...

We stayed here for four nights over Christmas. First impressions were that this is an extremely well run hotel. It was a pleasure to find staff so well trained, that they knew how to serve, who was having which meal or drink, and were able to answer most questions. Sadly this is becoming increasingly rare. Of the rooms available at...

Down a lane towards the sea but on entry a lovely warm welcome and pre-dinner drinks served in a "drawing room" environment. Plenty of veggie options (thank you) and an extensive & expensive wine list. Food was lovely (again). It's nice to say this but we find the staff are well rehearsed in dealing with the upper end of society...

The service is consistently good & wonderfully understated. The food today was I think the best we have ever had since we have been going here. Starters were all lovely - the crab tortellini was gorgeous- & we all loved our mains - steak, burgers & the soufflé well this was wonderful. And the staff had worked until 1 am...

If I was looking for one word to sum up my two-day visit to Orestone Manor on Devon's English Riviera, I'd would use the one associated with Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood ... FAB-U-LOUS! The hotel dates back to the mid-19th century but, despite retaining its Georgian charm, it has been updated under the careful watch of the...

We have been here a couple of times and the whole restaurant experience is simply amazing! The food is fresh and delicious and staff very welcoming and attentive. Make sure you book ahead and if possible sit outside. The hotel has beautiful views and a wonderful garden. We have also stayed at the hotel. We booked the Horsley Suite and...

My girlfriends and I celebrated our Christmas lunch together here. We choose a new venue every year and we were really pleased with our lunch. I had the liver pate which was excellent, followed by turkey and perfectly cooked vegetables and roast potatoes. We had coffee in front of a roaring open fire on comfortable sofas and at no point...

I had a lovely room in one of the attics, there is no lift but luckily I wasn't travelling with heavy bags. The room was clean and comfortable, a nice respite from the wild weather outside. Dinner was very tasty, although I felt a little on the pricey side. The staff were pleasant and helpful throughout. As a business traveller...

We live in Torquay and went to Orestone Manor for our Wedding Anniversary and stayed one night. The accommodation was really quirky and could not be faulted. The dinner was wonderful, with a fantastic menu choice for all the fine dining courses and cook to perfection. The staff were excellent. Great value for money and is up there as one...

Came to Orestone Manor for a meal for my husbands birthday. We had a very nice meal here, the menu was quite limited, but I was able to try something different than I'd normally go for, which I was glad about as it was really nice. The staff are very polite and attentive too. A nice evening with an extra...

Thank you for your review. Normally dinners would have access to the full choice of menus which offer a good choice. However as would have been explained to your party organiser upon booking Larger parties of over 10 people are offered the choice of the a la carte menu OR the daily menu as without a pre order offering all...
