We came here to be in a central location, with parking, and it had great reviews. From the initial reception from the proprietor to us leaving was just a joy and we will be coming back. The building is well looked after, the rooms are really well-appointed with everything beautifully clean and working. The breakfast was cooked fresh to order...

We spent 1 night at Haytor Hotel, definitely would have stayed more if we knew how lovely the place is. Fantastic location, close to the city but surrounded by nature. Rooms are very comfortable, very well furnished. Breakfast was phenomenal. All local products, definitely very high quality standards. Fantastic money for value!

We came here to this hotel because of the extremely high ratings in the TripAdvisor. (roughly 800-5* and 150-4*). The hotel is very well placed to the restaurants and the bars, only 5 min walk and we were in the bay. The staff were probably as nice a bunch of people you could possibly meet. Check in was very smooth...

Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We are obviously extremely disappointed you only found us average, as you mention yourself, this is a long way below people's normal experience and we are sorry not to have met your expectations on this occasion, but very much hope you will revisit us and hopefully we will perform better....

Had a fantastic one night stay at this lovely hotel. Roger was a brilliant host - provided lots of information about the local area on arrival - made me wish that I was able to stay longer! The hotel is in a great location just a short walk from the harbour. I stayed in an executive room and though a...

Me and my other half stayed here from boxing for 2 nights. We came down to visit family over the Christmas holidays. The hotel was a pleasant surprise, located close to Torquay high street and quay. Our room was clean and had been recently renovated. The bed was comfortable and had 2 good nights sleep. The breakfast was amazing and...

My partner and i wanted a night away from Plymouth so chose The Haytor Hotel. We definately made the right decision from the start. I rung them a few days before we stayed there to ask if they could arrange to have some flowers ready in our room for when my partner entered our room. She was very happy to...

We arrived late on a very wet, cold November evening to a very warm welcome from Roger the owner of the hotel. We were shown into the bar and once the check in formalities were sorted out a bottle of wine was ordered and enjoyed in the very comfortable bar. Later we were shown to our rooms. We had a...
