We had a really pleasant stay at the Marstan in September 2016. As other reviewers pointed out the hosts, Ian and Craig, show a remarkable hospitality. The house has a nice typical british atmosphere and the breakfast with self made yogurt and full cooked breakfast with local produce is delicious. The hot tub in the garden is a special delight...

It's always hard to judge a hotel from the internet, but we were very happy with our decision to choose The Marstan. The building and decor was beautiful and Ian and Craig are great hosts...so helpful and friendly...easy to tell they love what they do. I wish we could have stayed more than one night.

Ian and Craig were excellent host, the Marstan Hotel is a charming period property, with decor to match. We thoroughly enjoyed our short break in Torquay. Also we would like to give an honorable mention to Harvey the Dog who plays a valuable role meeting and greeting the guests.

We had a two night stay at the Marstan Guest House which was perfect. The accommodation is clean, the beds are comfortable and the breakfast is amazing. We will definitely stay here again and would recommend this accommodation to anyone.

We found this hotel recommended on TripAdvisor when touring Devon and booked for one night, last minute. The hotel is a Victorian House brought back to life by the owner/operators, Ian & Craig. The attention to detail is incredible. The beautifully decorated room we had was large and airy. The breakfast was superb

We had a lovely welcome at The Marston and found the traditional style accommodation of high standard and perfectly clean. The room was spacious and had a guest tray that was filled with free and optional buy goodies. We went out to a restaurant recommended by our hosts and were not disappointed. The breakfast was of a very high standard,...

Great hosts, good staff, very clean and tidy, nothing too much trouble. The Marstan proved an ideal base for touring Devon for the five days we were there. Would definitely stay again. Set in one of the quieter residential areas in Torquay, you are only ten to fifteen minutes walk from the harbour area bars and restaurants.

The warmest of welcomes (Craig is the perfect host and a gentleman) followed by the most beautiful room and the finest freshest breakfast - it really is that good!! Great staff team, a well deserved 5stars. I've lived, worked and taken holidays in the Bay and this has been my favourite hotel from the last 15 years.

We loved our one night stay at The Marstan, Craiig and Ian work hard to provide a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The breakfast was fantastic and the bed the most comfortable we have slept in on our entire trip. Very reasonable charge. Would unreservedly recommend.
