My wife and I stayed here for one night when going to the theatre. The hotel was great value for money with a very comfortable bedroom, short walk to the theatre. Would definitely stay again. Thank you Paul and Liz for your hospitality.

Room was outdated but you get what you paid for. When leaving I took the bags to the car and the manager Liz came out and stopped us and made the girlfriend walk to the shop in the pissing down rain, to get cash out to pay for the room. When asked why they can’t charge the card w

Grant, thank you for taking the time to leave this review. I would like to clarify a couple of points made as I believe the review and score to be wholly unjust, something you could rectify if, on reflection, you agree with. The room isn’t outdated, however, as you had booked the Small Double Ensuite it is not one of our most luxurious rooms but perfectly comfortable with everything you need for a short break. We did have Superior rooms available but you chose the cheapest option. Indeed, Angela came down to the bar during the early evening and told me she was very impressed with Trelawney, saying we have a beautiful place here. When leaving to take your bags to the car over an hour after you should have checked out, having not rung the service bell to check out and pay for your stay, you left your key on the side, which to us states to all intents and purposes you were not planning to return. Your girlfriend Angela seemed very reluctant to leave but we could clearly see on CCTV that you were encouraging her to walk out of the door. I, the owner, not manager, came to the front door as you were both walking down the road to ask if you had any intention of paying for your stay. Angela told me you were not ‘doing a runner’, just going to the cash point to get some money to pay. You very quickly walked away and left Angela talking to me. Yes, it was a little damp, but I did not make her walk to the shop in the rain, that was what she said she had set out to do in the first place. I could have taken a card payment via the card reader, but having discussed the payment options with Angela on check in she was more than happy to pay in cash for your 1-night stay. Regardless of payment method we pay the booking.com commissions, they have no bearing on the card fees. This is something you would know, if indeed you are, as you told us, a manager in a Hotel. We also noted that you have left a 2 star review for another establishment, stating that you are the owner of a pub. You seem to be a bit of a Walter Mitty. In any case, Angela then returned with the money to pay for your stay and seemed very happy with the service she received, even leaving us a tip. I am absolutely dumbfounded that, as a manager in a Hotel, you would contemplate walking away without paying for your stay. Not only this, but you left over an hour after check out, something we could have charged for but didn’t, you seemingly had a food fight in the bedroom leaving sweetcorn stuck to the wall and behind the units. You have a lack of respect. Having had conversations with Angela during your stay, I believe she is a respectable and respectful woman and would not have contemplated this without your influence. My thoughts go to the Antrobus Hotel that you and Angela work for, which we can see you have left a 5 star review for. I’m positive they will not be impressed when they see you have tried to walk away without paying.

hi,we are staying here next week, can anyone tell me if their is parking please.thank you.
There are only two spaces at the back of the hotel but just down the road there is on street parking and its free. If you get stuck tho just ask the owner of the hotel he will be more than happy to tell you where you can park.
