I have just returned from a four day break at the Hotel Balmoral, Torquay. The rooms were small, clean and functional. As mentioned in previous comments, the rooms are somewhat dated, but I felt that added to the hotels charm. There is no lift in the hotel, which could be a problem for people with recent hip or knee replacements....

The service from the staff was excellent. The room was well appointed and spacious. Most hotel rooms seem to have only one chair, so we were pleased to have two chairs. Seems only a small point but very important. The location of the hotel was great, close to Meadfoot bay. Beautiful gardens overlooking the sea and plenty of chairs and...

We have visited this hotel on many occasions over the last few years, both as a couple and as part of larger parties and each time we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are all individual, comfortable and tastefully furnished. Personally I like to pay a little extra for the premium rooms but having said that the cosy rooms...

We had a weekend here in April. We upgraded to a larger room. The deal was amazing value. Cream tea on arrival. Full breakfast each morning & a five course dinner each evening. With a three course Sunday lunch before departure. The friendliness of the staff & service are excellent. The bedrooms are all little dated but clean & comfortable....

we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Balmoral. The staff were helpful (breakfast staff worked really hard and did everything they could to please). The breakfast was excellent. The room was fine. Bed was a little bouncy and not terribly comfortable and the walls/door were not very sound proof. I could hear a neighbour snoring in the night (and no doubt...

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel, food excellent, five courses, plenty of choice, good full breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. Room comfortable, all facilities worked. Would have given five stars if hotel were to be updated, rather faded grandeur. Would definitely stay again.

Spent 5 nights here and it is what the title says, nice and pleasant. The room was nice, the location is nice, the garden is nice and the staff are pleasant. The food is nice without being over the top. We had a "cosy double with a sea view" room and that's exactly what it was. Cosy bordering on tiny...

We recently spent a long weekend break at the Balmoral. Our room was small but overlooked the garden and the sea and was very comfortable. We cannot praise the staff highly enough particularly Jay (our waiter) and the girls in the dining room. The chefs for the superb food and Alex for being the perfect host. well done! We look...

We stayed at the Hotel Balmoral for a relaxing weekend break and this is what we had. The staff are very friendly and the food exceptional. The entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights was very good but if you are in Room 4 there is no chance of sleep until it is finished. A little nice touch would be if...
