Table booked in the restaurant for eight pm last evening. Attitude problem. Booking not found and, instead of apologising said we could wait until someone had finished. When it was pointed out that the reservation had been made, the landlord stomped off to bring back their diary to show that the girl had failed to enter our booking. Totally unable...

Visited this place yesterday, although not for the first time! The environment was clean and welcoming but the outstanding part was the food. OMG the scampi and the chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce I cannot find words for. I have not eaten such great scampi for many years. My grandson also had the scampi and despite being only one year,...

We didn't book but they found us a table despite the sun being out and everyone sitting outside having a drink. The food, particularly the Thai curry was really good, hubby had the Sunday roast but I'm really glad I went for something different. The staff were attentive despite it being busy an the food didn't take too long to...

I have to say this is one of the best hotels / B&B we have ever stayed in. The hotel is right on the river in Totnes, off the main road, so was quite peaceful. The view over the river was wonderful. We even saw a seal that evening. We thought the staff were amazing! Really friendly, attentive (but not...

Friday night we decided to travel down to Devon as the forecast was good, Never having staying in Totnes before be took pot luck and choose The Steam Packet. Quirky bijou seaside themed room newly renovated, down side a very small bed, but a lovely walk in shower. From the time we arrived until checking out we were met by...

Stayed in Room 3 (Family room) on 18th March, for a wedding we were attending nearby. Price very reasonable for night's stay. Very warm welcome by staff and greeted by a clean and comfortable room. The decor is pleasant and apt for the building. Nice views too. Breakfast also very good standard, and good value for money. Was fresh, hot...

Just returned from our third stay at the Steam Packet Inn and pleased to say we still love it. We stayed in Room 1, beautifully decorated with a very comfy bed. The food was fabulous and the staff are so helpful - we will be back!

Lovely riverside inn with wonderfully decorated and equipped rooms, although they are up some pretty steep stairs! However, they are well worth the climb as they have luxurious bathrooms and wonderfully comfy beds. Breakfast was ok - well cooked and presented but let down by artificial butter and commercial portions of marmalade, rather than home or locally made, and little...

We booked a table and were seated at the table we had requested in the restaurant conservatory overlooking the river. The waitress took our drinks order and brought them to the table. We had to wait some time before going to the bar to request that we were ready to order. The meal came-fish and chips were great but the...

Just love this place. Great food, great service & an enviable location. Love the river trip to Dartmouth - get the weather right & it's a day you'll not forget! Central location but parking at the pub can be limited. Can't wait to go back this summer.
