We are a group of 4 New Zealanders who have been travelling for 5 weeks around Britain by car. We happened upon this gorgeous Lodge by chance, and what a find. We stayed two nights in what was the highlight of the end of our travels before flying home from London. Clean, elegant, spacious, warm, hospitable, beautiful lounges, fantastic gardens,...

We were made to feel really welcome by Tom and later found all the staff to be very friendly. Our twin bedded room (No 10) was on the side of the house with no view but that did not matter as we left after breakfast each day and did not return until 10pm each evening. The room was good with...

We chose this hotel as it is close (20 mins) to the ferry port in Poole and would accommodate our dog. Wood Lodge is easy to find on a leafy, wide boulevard close to the beach. Check in was painless. We'd booked two rooms - a single for my father in law and a double/twin for ourselves and dog. The...

Very welcoming staff, nothing was too much trouble and the hotel was very well looked after with beautiful gardens and amle sized rooms. The pictures do not do the hotel enough justice. Thouringly enjoyed our stay.

Stayed one night in this wonderful b&b. Great hosts, the first think they showed me was a big back garden to run around in and boy did I run, along with their two scotties. I had a big room with a carpet to roll around on and my humans had a very nice big bed, they also said that the...

I stayed for one night at this delightful B&B. It is a lovely building set in very well cared for grounds. The host is very warm and welcoming and nothing is to much trouble. I stayed in room 11 which is a very good size, quiet and extremely clean. The breakfast room is lovely and looks over the back garden....

Very nice hotel with friendly owners that were also very accommodating to our dog. Nice tasty full English breakfast downstairs (although it could be a little bigger). Easy stroll to the East Cliff of Bournemouth, and a short drive from the town centre. Only real negative was the shower - difficult to regulate temperature & inconsistent pressure.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are situated on the East cliff of Bournemouth, the famous 7 miles of sandy beach can be reached in a matter of minutes or a 15 minute stroll along the cliff top and through the gardens will take you to the centre of the Town. The Wood Lodge was built in the early 1900's and has retained many of the original features added to the house then. It has the feel of a manor house set in large, green leafy gardens to the front and rear which add to the relaxing and quiet atmosphere you can expect to experience here. It is, however, only a few minutes from the hustle and bustle of the town centre ... more   less
