A charming find in the heart of Dorchester, run by a delightful couple, Melvin and Monica. From the moment we arrived, to the time our stay ended, our two hosts could not have made us more welcome at their well run accommodation which was spotlessly cleaned and extremely comfortable. During the few days we stayed there, along with friend, we were advised on places of interest and on the choice of restaurants within easy walking distance. More so, Monica reminded us to make the most of their accommodation by inviting us to enjoy the use of their sitting room, lounge and garden, suggesting we were very welcome to bring in take-away meals and drink as an alternative to going out to eat. The breakfasts included in our stay were first rate with a fantastic selection of food and drinks, which we were encouraged to take full advantage of. If Dorchester is a chosen area for your stay, then you cannot go wrong with ‘The Casterbridge’ as your choice of accommodation. Superb! Thank you both for a lovely, friendly stay. We booked a stay here as a last minute trip. Well what a place. The rooms are spacious and the Casterbridge does a wonderful breakfast to ready you for the day ahead. Nothing is too much trouble if you need advice. If you can get a room then pick here, you won’t be disappointed.
We stayed for 2 nights and cannot praise it enough. Our room was lovely with a lovely big bath with shower over it. Although we were on the front of the hotel was had very little road noise. The hosts told us about parking and a lovely riverside walk a few minutes from the hotel. Definitely a place to return to.
Great guest house, very clean and well presented, great hosts with a wealth of knowledge of Dorset. good breakfast, ask about the second flight of stairs as i found it just a bit much for me ! Parking and location great. Every thing you could want in Dorchester.
Stayed for two nights and we were made very welcome. Our room was really comfortable with everything that we needed. Excellent choice for breakfast and the host was really helpful with information about local attractions. No on site parking but we were given access to a parking spot just a short walk away. We will use The Casterbridge again if we are ever in the area.
