I rang a few days before and books 2 rooms for a business trip. The man I spoke to was very good and accommodating. Arrived about 6.45pm, managed to park outside the hotel but this is time restricted. I parked at a public car park and I was given a token to display in my car window to avoid charges....

This was a lively, buzzing gem of a hotel and the little jewel in it's social crown was cocktail hour - it was Buy One Get One Free from a simple selection costing £6.50 and attracted a good crowd, which gave the bar a really nice vibe and more often than not people stayed after cocktail hour for a glass...

Arrived early afternoon for our weekend stay, and we were greeted warmly by the friendly receptionist. Our room was ready so there was no problem with early check in. The room was large, warm and comfortable (and quiet). Likewise the bathroom was large and modern with a big walk-in shower with over-head rain tap, but no hand hose which is...

I have now had 3 bad experiences and will not return again. Cancelled on, bookings altered last minute and ignored. Waste of time and money. Don't be drawn in by the decor as the initial feeling of being impressed soon wears off. Need to train staff and further employ more for set tasks to keep a smooth running. Many better...

Dropped by for a casual lunch having remembered a superb dinner 6 years ago. We opted for the bar menu as we only wanted a light lunch. Please don't think of bar as in a pub, this is a smart hotel bar, nice and cosy and not full of loud drinkers. We both had the puy lentil soup, clearly homemade...

We met some old friends for drinks and dinner; the bar area is very nice indeed and boasts a log burner which makes it cosy, dogs are admitted and there were lots of people of all ages which added to the ambience. The food however was appalling and service not much better. Sorry guys you need up the anti!

We have eaten here three times in the past couple of years, but do not intend to repeat the experience. Each time the service has been slow and erratic. Last time, we were served by at least four different people, none of whom seemed to be aware of what orders the others had taken. Each time we have been there...

Went for a family meal as our granddaughter was going off to New Zealand. We where shown to our table given the menus but not asked what drinks we wanted till we ordered which was about 30 minutes. Two of us had the seafood Tagiattelli which had 4 prawns and 3 cockles at a cost of £15 each , the...

We booked to have our entire wedding from the ceremony to the reception at the Grosvenor Arms and we are so happy that we did. Not only was our suite beautiful, but the bed and pillows were lush! we had a brilliant nights sleep. We asked if we could have a traditional afternoon tea for our reception and the hotel...

We stayed here for a night as a getaway from a hectic xmas. The hotel is very stylish and well decorated with generally a very nice feel about it. The room was very spacious with a very large and comfy bed and a very good bathroom and shower. The toiletries are also very good. The main shortcomings we found were...
