A lovely, well maintained hotel/restaurant. The restaurant is spacious and well laid out, good lighting - well lit tables but atmospheric ambient light too; waiting staff fine. Food; five of us: we had venison burger - enjoyed, Pork fillet, good but but a bit measly, and three of us had rib-eye steak - very nice, properly grilled. Accompanying veg. well,... More

I worked at the Grosvenor Hotel, before it was revamped. I come to Shaftesbury to visit my dad, I'v always said I would stay there and I was not disappointed. We stayed 2 nights we had a pizza at the bar the first night which was nice, but only ate in the hotel for breakfast which was excellent as we... More

Myself and my husband visited the Grosvenor Arms in March for a cream tea. When we arrived the welcome was warm, we were shown to the cosy stylish lounge and offered a glass of refreshing bubbly each. This was followed by a superb array of cakes and cute little sandwiches. The staff were professional, yet attentive. This was a relaxing,... More

Good location in centre of town. Modern décor and furnishings in this converted coaching inn. Our room was on the first floor which was OK but if you are bit infirm then there are a lot of stairs to the second and third floors. No lift as far I could see. The room was of a decent size and nicely... More

We visit the Grosvenor as our son lives at a nearby residential autistic school. It's slightly on the pricey side but we are always happy to come back. The rooms are stylish and comfortable, service is excellent and it just has that right mix of quality without being overly formal. We also love that it's so dog friendly. When you... More

Great room, and fabulous food. Stayed for 2 nights breakfast / dinner. Both meals were excellent in choice and quality, with really personal service. Room was well furnished and my wife really enjoyed the nespresso coffee machine. Local area full of historical and cultural places to visit and made the stay all the richer. Strongly recommend this hotel as a... More

Check in staff very friendly. We got upgraded as soon as we checked and the room was fantastic. All the staff we came across were all eager to please, always greeting you with a smile. We had a few drinks at the bar in the evening, the ambience and atmosphere was brilliant. Decor was great. Breakfast in the morning was... More

Stayed for one night recently, our room was spacious and nicely decorated as was the en-suite. The courtyard is very attractive, lunch was just okay but overpriced, same comments for dinner, restaurant very attractive but food was not wow and prices did not reflect the quality and quantity. We did enjoy cocktails in the bar. The parking situation is an... More

The room was a Superior Double but some things need improvement. The lighting is poorly sighted, not bright enough where needed. Decor is a little unimaginative. Three coat hangers is not enough! Bathroom is large, plenty of room for a bath as well as the walk-in shower. 'No bath' had not been made clear when booking. No door hooks on... More
