Detailed Reviews
We booked through Booking.com and got a great rate for a two day stay. The room had air con and not too many stairs.
The room had a vast selection of teas and coffees as well as treats including crisps and chocolate.
I love this place as it is a great hotel, competitively priced , close to the beach and Brighton centre
The room was cleaned both days and new towels and toiletries provided

Gorgeous boutique hotel which is ideally located for the beach & exploring Brighton. Really lovely/ quirky inside, so much thought about the detail has been given to make you feel welcome & comfortable (e.g. air diffuser with essential oils, good quality toiletry products & a well stacked treat tray...Parma Violets to 😊). Lola has a natural warmth that makes you feel your at home right away & nothing is to much to ask for all the staff, cracking breakfast choices to. I stayed with my daughter & 2 pooches in the twin room which suited us perfectly, despite being so close to the main road & beach it was very quiet & the dogs weren’t disturbed...Looking forward to our next trip to Brighton 😊

We had originally booked Tuesday and Wednesday but due to lockdown the owner accommodated us by shifting the booking to Monday and Tuesday.
From check in to check out we - hubby, the dog and me - had a most enjoyable stay. We had room 5 which has everything we needed; spotlessly clean, comfy bed, complimentary toiletries and a quirky snack pack.
The room was sweltering even without the radiator on, so the air con was utilised in November! The only thing I would have liked were better pillows with protectors.
The breakfast was spot on, especially the scrambled eggs and there was plenty of variety.
What we liked more than anything was to have the dog stay as not many places are as welcoming as The Oriental to the furry ones.
The only downside to Brighton is the parking hoo ha; it is limited and expensive. Luckily my daughter lives two streets away and we had visitor permits but three days would be about £70ish!
We will definitely be back once Boris releases us from Covis exile!

Took my 16 year old to Brighton for a treat and very glad that we chose The Oriental to stay at. It’s a really lovely little place, a bit quirkier than I would normally choose, but that made it lovelier!
We received a very warm welcome from Lola (and my daughter quickly made friends with Luna the Boston Terrier) with the offer of hot drinks & home made cakes, which are available throughout your stay. We had told them the day before that we’d be there earlier than check in to drop our bags and would come back after the check in time, but they had got our room ready for us early, which was very much appreciated. The room was warm and comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. It’s on a quiet side street so there was no overnight noise at all. The location is excellent though, just off the seafront and only a 10minute walk to The Lanes.
We had the full English breakfast, which was very good.
Highly recommended as a lovely place to stay with excellent service. You really feel as if nothing is too much trouble 😊

I recently visited Brighton to see an old friend plus to have a swim in the sea which I hadn’t done for a couple of years. Looking for a hotel that offered breakfast that was close to the sea, close enough to the hustle and bustle but far enough away from it...I decided upon the Oriental. Very reasonable price I stayed in the en suite single room which has to be said was much larger than your average offering and spotlessly clean and bright with double aspect windows.
My 3 night stay was a pleasure. The hosts couldn’t do enough for me giving me valuable advice for the walks I had planned. The breakfasts were excellent and very well put together. It was literally a 30 second walk to the beach which was lovely and not as crowded as further east nearer the Pier.
Would absolutely stay here again....in fact I will certainly stay here again.

Room ready early, great local knowledge offered about restaurants and places to visit, free tea coffee and soft drinks. Will be back here again.

I stayed here with my daughter and her baby son, and my two little dogs. The road runs right off the prom so in an excellent position.
Hotel manager was helpful and welcoming when we arrived. He explained the layout of the hotel, timings of breakfast and showed us the bar. It was well stocked with alcohol, including cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks. Alcoholic drinks were to be paid for but the non alcoholic drinks were free of charge.
Our room was spotless and well equipped. Lots of complimentary sweets, chocolate bars and crisps. Good quality tea bags and a Nespresso machine with Nespresso capsules. The shampoos etc were L’Occitane.
Breakfast was excellent. Daughter had the full English and I had bacon and eggs. Delicious.
Friendly, efficient, clean. Would thoroughly recommend.

Me and my girlfriend spent our 3 year anniversary here. Was really close to the beach and the city centre - immediately upon arriving we were looked after, given complimentary drinks - teas coffees and soft drinks along with Madeira cake as the host went through everything on the maps for us to do and see. We were then told that our room was ready early and we had a complementary bottle of wine for us we could collect at any time. The room was nice and well stocked, only thing we would’ve hoped for was maybe a bath tub but other than that fantastic. Breakfast was great too and the staff incredibly friendly. Of stairs is an issue for you maybe this wouldn’t suit but other than this I would recommend

Highly personable and personal - Lola and her small staff make you feel as though you matter, in something well beyond 'trained staff' style (NOT putting down the idea of good training for hotel staff though).
It's cosy and yet much alive in the sitting/eating/drinking room, and so easy to feel at ease. Local art on the walls, and decent (quiet) music on the hifi.
Breakfast fruit was beyond anything I've ever experienced in a small or large hotel - and the 'full English' was full, and tasty (I had to opt out, and took an 'almost full' option on the second morning). As much tea & coffee as you want - whenever you want it.
And a well stocked bar if you feel you have to fight off the effects of the caffeine :)

Hubby and I booked this little gem for a short weekend away whilst attending a concert at the Brighton Centre. Lola & Tony were so welcoming and went above and beyond our customer expectation to make our stay memorable. They even provided scented oil in the room and small snacks of chocolate and crisps! We absolutely LOVED our stay and would highly recommend to anybody visiting Brighton. If we're ever in the area again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Hello,
Thank you for your enquiry.
Please note that on-street parking on Oriental Place is very restricted and limited to a two-hour maximum stay. For this reason, we recommend:
- 1st option - Regency Square Council Car Park (5 min walking distance), OPEN 24H, Brighton BN1 2FG
- 2nd option - Regency Secure Parking (5 min walking distance), NEED TO BOOK, 1 Regency Mews, Brighton BN1 2HF. Please ring them ASAP on 01273 775215 to book a space. They are not open 24h so please check their Opening Hours.
- 3rd option - Norton Road Council Car Park (20 min walking distance), Norton Road, Hove, BN3 3BE (24 hours)
This pay and display car park is about a 20 min walk away but the cost is approx £5 for the 12 hours ( as it only charges between 8am and 8pm).
Or you can try JustPark.c*m, find a convenient and cost-effective parking space from a home or business owner who would like to rent their parking space, with no worries about parking tickets.
Incredibly dog friendly - stayed there recently took our little dog. The staff were incredibly friendly and could enough to make us welcome.
Hi, our biggest room is our superior suite; it has a a King-size bed, spa bath and an L-shaped sofa which can be made into a bed for either 1 adult or 2 children. Hope that helps!
Yes. Roadside or corporation car park close by. Brighton is a nightmare though and parking can be tight although weekends apart (Xmas shopping) should be ok. Although expensive!
