We chose this hotel as we were planning to saty over a week, and due to the uncertainty of the pandemic, we opted for one with last minute cancellation just in case, for a reasonable price.

The location was perfect, right outside the train station. We parked our car in the nearby RCP car park for a discounted £14 per day instead of the usual £28 (bring the chip to the hotel reception for validation. It's about 5 minutes walk, so convenient. There's a Tesco, Sainsbury's and Marks and Spencers nearby. Lots of eating places to choose from too! We didn't go for the breakfast option as it was during the covid period, and there's no hot breakfast available. 5 minutes walk to the Brighton Laines, and 10-15 min walk to the sea front.

Check in and check out was easy. Usual covid precautions were present in every location of the hotel. The usual house keeping did not happen daily, just all most accommodation practice, which was fine, The memo said if we stayed over 6 days, it will be cleaned then on day 6, but ours was cleaned around day 3 which surprised us!

As the rooms aren't serviced daily, we had to ask for extra coffees/teas from the reception who always obliged. It was just wonderful to have a kettle in the room which is very welcome! Hairdryer provided. The bed was comfortable, the view was spectacular. The room would benefit from a few more hooks around the room for coats etc. If the hotel was to be refurbished in future, I would suggest having plug sockets by the bedside.

The working of the TV took a while to get the hang of. It has the usual 'free view' channels.

The toiletries are limited to a bottle of combined shower/shampoo attached to the wall in the shower and by the sink.Unfortunately the toilet door couldn't really shut properly and probably need readjusting. The toilet light takes a while to come on too after switching it on. The shower was disappointingly weak, not powerful enough, the saving grace was it can get very hot which is good.

The walls (and ceiling!) are thin! We were glad our neighbours upstairs who were audibly enjoying themselves finally slept at a decent hour of the night!

All staff were excellent, polite, obliging, helpful, makes such a difference to having a pleasant stay.

We would stay again for the location and price and friendly staff, and would highly recommend it.

This is the 2nd time we stayed, chosen Ibis due to the location and the price that is reasonable as we booked way in advance. We parked at the same RCP car park at North Street, as the hotel offers a 50% discount on car parking when the parking token is validated at the hotel, and it is only 2 minutes walk away.

We were given the top (10th) floor which we are glad of, as previously, we could hear noises from the floors above. However, despite it being on the top floor, we could here the revelers on the roads, as we had to have the windows on a mild night, and couldn't have the air-conditioning on as it was also making some noise.

The room itself was good as before. As the room isn't serviced due to covid precautions, we asked for extra coffee/tea sachets and cups etc which the hotel kindly obliged.

A nice touch was the complimentary pain au chocolat that was offered at check in! Thank you!

The soap dispenser by the sink was empty (so we used the one in the shower). It would be good if housekeeping can ensure that all dispensers are not empty as a minimum requirement.

I would stay again, if the price remains competitive.

A perfect location, could walk to everywhere in 20 mins, and expensive at £200 per night in June, for a week, but Brighton is pricy anyway. The rooms are not huge, with built in storage and a slimline desk with wood floor. The small bathroom which was a pod style, like student accommodation and the shower were fine with shampoo etc. provided. The bed was hard but we like that and there are no curtains just 3 panels you pull across, so bring eye masks as we were awake by 6 am with the light flooding in. Also we kept the windows shut as the very early hotel delivery woke us up 1st night and used air con instead from then on. The buffet breakfast was good with coffee machines but watch out if you are a vegetarian/vegan as serving spoons can get muddled up, even though separate ones are provided. Plenty of choices for vegans though. Compliments to the chef too. The public area/ breakfast area were clean and the staff were busy clearing away and wiping down the tables continuously.
The cleanliness is average in the bedrooms but I wiped the surfaces, myself. Not sure if the room cleaning staff are short staffed.
Parking was offsite but we had no issues and hotel was very good with explanations. Peter was responsive and helpful.
Given 4 * as location very good and the staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. Special mention must go to Mar, Valentine, Leonardo and Summer. Thank you for making our work stay so friendly with your personal touch.

I haven't stayed here before so I don't know what it was like before Covid, but their changes managed to ruin the experience. At best they were tokenistic and frustrating. At worst, they actually increased the Covid risk. For example, instead of turning round from the reception desk and walking 5 paces past nobody, we were compelled to take the long route back, through part of the hotel we never would have otherwise entered, touching 2 doors and a button.

We prebooked breakfast assuming this would be a treat and that it would cost us less that way, only to find that breakfast had turned into a paper bag with a croissant and some cereal. What a disappointment! To add insult to injury, we paid £7.99 for what was being sold for £6.99. To be fair, they did refund us after making our disappointment clear. However, we must have been fortunate with the person at the desk because there was a noticeable difference between individuals as to how helpful they wanted to be.

Multiple times we were told "we don't have housekeeping", which begs the question, how are they keeping the hotel clean? Of course they did have housekeeping, but it seemed to be an excuse not to offer the basic service you would expect from a hotel. It is understandable in these times that they wouldn't clean and make beds as a matter of course, but they refused to help even on request. If we needed new towels or toilet roll, we were handed them at reception to take up to our 9th floor room ourselves. Need bins emptying? Have a bin bag and do it yourself! Frankly, by day 3 of two people sharing a small bathroom with no ventilation, it had started to smell. This is not what you would expect from any hotel.

I fail to understand why it is apparently safe to sit in a restaurant with many other people at a table that may or may not have been cleaned in between, but housekeeping can't enter a hotel room for 5 minutes wearing masks and gloves. It makes no sense.

The hotel is in a great location and is potentially very nice, but they need to re-think their Covid approach with logic and common sense and a different attitude to the service they provide.

Brighton deserves better really, as this hotel occupies a prime location right by the station just minutes from the North Laine area’s shops. It’s an expensive town and I guess that’s how this place stays in business as it is very poor value for money. The rooms are small and very basic indeed, with prefabricated pod-style shower rooms, hard beds and instead of curtains or blinds, just two thin fabric panels that slide across the window but do nothing to block out light. You will need an eye mask to avoid waking at dawn and probably won’t sleep well given the hard, thin mattress and pillows. Really the only good comments I can make was that the shower worked well and I appreciated the large bath towels and the provided shampoo and shower gel. I was also lucky enough to get a room at the end of the corridor on a high floor and overlooking the back of the hotel so it was quiet.

The high floor turned out to be a disadvantage as the hotel only has two small lifts and one of them was broken throughout my stay, meaning long waits to go both up and down. Frankly, I was relieved to check out. I wanted to be close to the station this time but I wouldn’t return - the privately run B&Bs nearer the beach that I’ve previously stayed at offer far more comfort.

The IBIS hotel is conveniently located near Brighton’s main train station so within easy access of the town centre. We stayed there for personal reasons and the staff was very helpful with preparing & collecting breakfast in the rooms as the restaurant was closed due to Covid. Good value overall.

Visited with family, we booked three rooms and paid £390 in all so not cheap at all considering I could of paid a lot less for a premier inn and probably would of got better service. Reception staff not welcoming at all. Made to feel like we wasn’t welcome to sit in the reception area, as if we was taking up room even though our rooms wasn’t ready on time.

My mother had an awful nights sleep.
The mattress of her bed was damaged/faulty so all throughout the night she would feel like she wasn’t lying straight as the mattress was caved in on the edge. When this was bought to receptions attention in the morning she was told she should of told them at the time. She wasn’t going to go down at 1am to tell them to move rooms! The offer of compensation was free breakfast for 5 of us or £30 refund. The breakfast was nearly over and not much left so that wasn’t an option so we had to make do with the £30 refund. My mums back was aching all day as she suffers with her back anyway so it happened to the worst person.

So disappointed as it was for her 60th birthday and I really was upset that it was completely ruined with her having an awful nights sleep. After we took this up with the staff and got the £30 refund, we was sitting in the reception area before leaving and we kept getting looks from the staff and could tell we was being spoken about. I don’t doubt that staff will discuss customers but to do it blatantly in front of them is just rude.

This hotel is located minutes away from Brighton train station and is walking distance to the shopping centers as well as the beach. If traveling by car to hotel, there is a car park just down the road where you can park and get it a discounted rate if you take the chip to reception. The car park was located in North Road, we paid £14 for 24 hours which I think was great value.

We stayed in a twin room - great size and very clean. Amenities included as mentioned when booking.

The staff were very polite when checking in and out.

Location next to the station was very good - could leave luggage after arriving in Brighton. Had planned to stay in Brighton for 2 nights but ended up just staying 1 as it was cheaper to stay in a Premier Inn in London.

The staff were so friendly and trying really hard to create a good atmosphere in the bar, with entertainment, free tapas style snacks, etc.

However the room was really average. We were allocated a room with a disabled access bathroom which wasn't very clean and tired looking. I think the cleaner had only bothered to clean the toilet and wash hand basin as surfaces etc hadn't been touched.
The room itself was basic which is what expect with Ibis budget but for £180 per night it felt like a rip off.
