We had a lovely time at the Avalon. We booked this accommodation with late notice as a nice one night get away. When we got to the Avalon we could not find anywhere to park so we went inside and this is where the owners issue a parking ticket (costs £8.00 for 24 hours) which then allows you to park... More

After reading an article in "Your Dog" magazine (holiday special) I booked myself, my husband and our Scottish Terrier in for a weekend break by the sea. Parking is a bit tricky in Brighton, however George, one of our hosts, guided my husband to a convenient spot by hopping into the car with him - no mean feat with an... More

Couldn't beat it for price, friendliness and being so very accomodating. Vegetarian gluten free breakfast? No problem. Need some directions or what to see/do? A wealth of knowledge is readily shared. These guys will go out of their way to make your visit easy and charming. I would go back in a flash.

We have just arrived home from staying at the Avalon and we absolutely loved the place. Cosy and homely, with lovely friendly people running the place. Even on the top floor the shower was great (always a worry when high up!) and the room just the right mix of homely and practical. Our veggie breakfasts were spot on, and Brian... More

Me and my girlfriend stayed in the beautiful Avalon Guest House run by Brian and Tom for a Valentines weekend away. Immediately after dumping my car beside the parking space-less road I went to Avalon's door to say hello and mention my concern, and instantly Brian and George welcomed me to the guest house and quickly showed me the fantastic... Stayed one night when attending a UNISON conference. Very close to the centre of Brighton, easy walking distance to the conference centre and the beach. An excellent breakfast that kept me going all day. A very welcoming place.

Stayed for 2nights when visiting Brighton and attending the Together the People festival. Normally stay in Hilton, Ramada type hotels in this country but struggled for a good price on Saturday night, so took a chance on a B&B just outside the centre; so glad we did. Very clean room and ensuite, comfortable bed - good night's sleep. Well cooked... More

We visited here after a bit of a rough time and needed a getaway. We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome, going down to breakfast was like sitting in your mums kitchen and the tips on places to visit were great. Our room was clean and comfortable. Thanks for a great stay, just what to doctor ordered :-)
