Staying at Berkeley House was a real treat from the usual branded hotels I usually stay in for business. As 2 female colleagues, this was a lovely safe and comfortable little haven. The host was delightful and so welcoming. We arrived rather late in the evening but she called ahead to a lovely Italian restaurant and ensured we had dinner,... More

We had the yellow room with a shower room which was fine. It had tea/coffee making and a TV breakfast was extremely good - cooked as we ordered and watched the preparation . The lady running the B & B was absolutely delightful and a real credit to the business. Our experience was that we received the highest standards. So... More

All good news: a comfortable room, excellent breakfast choice and a welcome from the owner! "Real " coffee bags and milk in the room was a nice touch.Their recommendation for an evening meal was a pub with meat and fish options smoked on the premises just a 15 minute stroll along the high street - very pleasing.

Amanda made us feel so welcome. She was an amazing host who also cooked us a fantastic breakfast. Stayed in the Yellow room which has an ensuite - had a very good night's sleep. It is centrally located and the rooms were prettily decorated. Would definitely come back again!

We stayed the night in the basement apartment. It was very comfortable with a bedroom, bathroom, lounge and small kitchen. The facilities were excellent. We had a very good breakfast with cereals etc and a choice of cooked meal. Amanda Deadman is an excellent host who is most concerned to look after all your needs. Strongly recommended.

I can only echo the comments of previous visitors. Berkeley House is ideally placed to explore the South Downs, and the townhouse itself is a little gem with an unusual history as a bonus. Our breakfasts - cooked to order by our host, Amanda - were delicious. Thanks so much for our stay.

You are more than welcome! It was a pleasure to have you to stay and I'm most grateful for your excellent review. I know I'm biased but Lewes is a great town with so much to offer, before you even start on the beautiful surroundings of the South Downs! So glad you enjoyed your visit. All the best, Amanda More

We recently stayed 2 nights at Berkeley House and thoroughly enjoyed our time. We were in the green room that has a separate bathroom across the hall. As it is the only guest room on the floor, it isn't an issue. So while I was initially concerned about it, it wasn't a problem at all. Amanda and Adam are friendly... More

This really is an exceptionally charming, comfortable, and welcoming B&B in a beautiful townhouse. Perfectly placed just off the main high street of Lewes, it puts you just a short walk from the station, the castle, and all the best pubs. We only stayed for one night, but Amanda made us feel at home instantly. The room was fresh and... More

From start to finish our experience of Berkeley House lived up to other reports. Our basement 'flat' was charming, comfortable and very well equipped. The bed was especially comfortable and the rooms were quiet at night. Breakfast was delicious and when we had a problem with local trains Amanda was most helpful.

Our second visit to Berkeley House confirmed that it is an ideal B and B if you want to stay in the Glyndebourne/Lewes area.
