Stayed here again for two nights commencing 3rd May and stayed in Appartment B , which is a lovely spacious suite with great views. The restaurant is under new ownership but the food is still excellent with a new and exciting menu. I had the fish stew one night and a skate wing the other , both were excellent. Will...

We stayed in the cottage with our dog. It's lovely, around the corner from the hotel entrance. Small but perfectly formed. Hotel is surrounded by the pretty cobbled streets, so while tricky to get to & park (I was grateful for my small car) it was really well worth it. Lovely views and surroundings with nice seating to enjoy your...

Up in the roof-space, but great use of the available space. Comfy bed, sparkling clean room, lovely shower. Telescope to look out at the view over the marshes - lovely. Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast.

Just come back from staying at the Hope and Anchor for a couple of nights. It is a lovely friendly place situated in a oldy worldy town full of quirky 15th century buildings. The Hotel is of the small cosy type rather than the mass market chains and the rooms on the whole are roomy and comfortable. The restaurant had...

We are both travel agents, and really enjoyed our brief stay here. Not luxury, of course, because this is a very old town. But the extra service we received, and the welcome hospitality, go a long way. Chris, the manager, was a joy to meet over a drink in their quaint little bar. Rooms are comfortable and clean, and it...

We had to go south for a funeral and rather than drive home we decided to stay locally. We have stayed at the Hope Anchor before and enjoyed it (having found it first!). We enjoyed our stay on both occasions. They are well run, clean and efficient. The room was spacious and well appointed. This is typical olde world, difficult...

We have just returned from the Hope Anchor Hotel in Rye, we have a wonderful weekend. I can understand why this hotel is so popular, we met 2 couples who were return visitors to the hotel, while we were there. The room was very comfortable, the staff were extremely nice, and accommodating, made my partner and I feel very welcome....

Stayed here on 23rd April for the night as a birthday gift. Room was lovely and clean. Had a few drinks in the bar area which was lovely. There was a great choice at breakfast including continental or cooked. Great stay and we will be back.

Took my wife here for a nights stay, which was largely a great place to stay in Rye. We were in a well appointed apartment which had everything you would need. Free parking and nice views. Had dinner there which was pleasant enough although we had lunch earlier in the day at the George Inn which had a better feel...

Myself and my partner spent the bank holiday in Rye as we'd never been there before and through we would dive in and immerse ourselves in it's charm, history and intrigue!! The Hope & Anchor provided the absolute perfect place to visit Rye. It is right in the citadel, you have to drive through Rye's ancient streets in order to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Although famous for its past, the Hope Anchor is known locally for its stunning views across the Quayside, Romney Marshes, Camber Castle and beyond to the sea. Most of our rooms enjoy these panoramic views and to be honest they need to be seen to be believed. Although beautiful all year round the sunsets in summer bring locals young and old to enjoy alfresco dining accompanied of course with a glass or two of wine! ... more   less
