We stayed in room 9 at the top of the pub/hotel. The room was clean and cosy. We dined in the pub and had a very good meal served by friendly staff and sat next to the roaring fire. A very welcome sight on a cold January night. The owner was friendly and welcoming. In the morning the breakfast was...

Lovely welcoming staff but food does not match up! Very limited menu which is fine if well executed. Minestrone soup is a medley of leftover veg with stock and a sprig of thyme. No robust Flavours, beans, pasta or things you would expect from a traditional Italian soup. Bread was nice but overall not worth an £8 price tag! not all your...

A great deal of effort has gone into making this a "quirky" place, typified by the cryptic information sheet in the bedroom. A little too much in fact, as it all seemed rather forced, especially when it did not match the rather surly and uninterested woman who checked us in, nor the general staff attitude which was less than engaging....

Went in over Christmas to loud music and were confronted by a barmaid who shouted at us from behind the bar as soon as we entered and would not leave us alone! Shouted at us to find a seat and shouted at us about our drinks so that the whole bar could hear (not that we had anything to hide...

Visited here on 24th December and was shocked about the rudeness and lack of cleanliness of the place. We sat at the bar for a drink and was witness to some disturbing sights. The staff were eating snacks ( chips , bread etc and some sauce they were dunking in) whilst serving customers. They then collected plates from the kitchen...

We stayed at the Ship Inn for one night in room 5. Overall we were very impressed during our stay, the staff were very friendly and the room stylish and clean. We ate dinner downstairs in the restaurant on Saturday evening and both enjoyed our food. There was a very cosy atmosphere in the pub and we liked the rustic...

We visited on a Saturday lunchtime and the atmosphere was really good. It was very busy but we were seated quickly. The food was good and everyone seemed relaxed in the environment with the waitresses being efficient in their service.

Recent visit on 24/11/16 Very quirky joint that me and my colleague stumbled across for a coffee. The features inside were very good and gave a cosy feel. It's close to the Rye town centre and does offer food options. I would come back here to eat as thought quality looked decent. This is also a hotel but can't judge...

Conveniently located around 10mins walk from the station, The Ship Inn is a lovely pub and hotel close to Rye's town centre. When we arrived on Saturday (14.00pm) the pub was quite busy (and it continued to be for the rest of the weekend), probably because it was the bonfire festivities that same weekend. The rooms are all decorated differently...
