Went for lunch : Good selection of dishes on the menu. The wine list was decent considering we are in a lovely village on the border of Norfolk/Essex county. Strongly recommend if you are in the area. The staff was attentive though prices were slightly above what I consider the norm. Plenty of space to park in the high street...

Don't be put off when entering the Bar of the Sun Inn. It will probably be noisy with laughter and it also doubles as 'Reception' for those staying. The bedrooms are quirky, old and very well fitted out. Those in the front are right opposite the church whose clock chimes loud hours all night, but there is one at the...

We nipped in and enjoyed a pint of Adnams Broadside beer in the rear garden on a hot sunny afternoon, whilst the ladies were shopping. The pub restaurant looked very homely and was fairly busy. We spoke to a couple who were staying here and eating on the patio area, they spoke very highly about the food and accommodation. We...

We always go to the sun inn for a drink and nibbles if you can get a seat in the lounge which is full of sofas armchairs and a huge fire place that's where we usually sit. there is a large restaurant to the rear and also a garden area the menu looks good although we have never eaten here...

We were booked in for two nights, but quickly decided to stay for three. The Sun was perfectly placed for our purposes, lots of dog walks, some bike rides and delicious food with such friendly and efficient staff. We were thrilled to find this pub, and would really recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Our room, Elsa, was big...

Went to the sun inn with husband and a good friend and first appearance was strange there was 2 or 3 men sitting around the bar who didn't look particularly friendly nor did the bar man and then the door kept opening and all these dogs kept coming in with owners obviously so we were a bit hoping we were...

The hotel was more than we expected with very well looked after in the style of the old building. On arrival the staff were very helpful and when we are in the restaurant, it was a pleasure to have a young team looking after us. They knew the menu and drinks and they all worked together to make or evening...

Lovely pub - not the absolute tops in décor etc but first class staff and probably the very best roast beef sandwich I have ever had. Parking may be a problem in high season but otherwise highly recommended.

Third stay in Dedham and second stay at The Sun. Just how we remember it and will definitely be back. What we love: Staff: so accommodating and friendly. Literally bend over backwards to make you feel welcome (bar, kitchen and managers). Rooms: Constable: cute little room. Comfy bed. Great view of the church Phaethon: good sized room with a REALLY...
