For anyone that isn't a Hobbit, room 11 (in the category of "standard room") might be more aptly named room 101. The room is inconceivably tiny and dark. The decor, although perhaps once pleasant, is tired and in need of not insignificant work. For example, above the bathroom door there was a fist sized hole in the ceiling. Presumably, this... More

I stayed here for a few nights break and was not disappointed . I went for a superior double room and was pleased to find a very large room with old beams but more important a lovely roll top bath at one end of the room ! Separate shower and toilet completed room 9 . Tastefully decorated with nice touches... More

We arrived around 12.30pm, and having requested an early check in, were very pleased that our room was ready. We were in room 9, which was beautiful. Very comfy bed, big bathroom (amazing shower!!), lounge area, freestanding bath-tub - 2 tvs so you could watch tv in the bath! - coffee machine. Breakfast the next day was very nice (our... More

The staff could not do enough for us during our stay, catering for all our needs. Food was excellent and rooms were beautiful . I would recommend this venue to anyone whether for just a meal, drink in the bar or a very special occasion.

This is a lovely, old restaurant in a charming town. The food was good but the service was quite slow. Although our guide ordered ahead, it seems there must have been a mix up as we waited over 45 minutes to be served. The scenery more than made up for the time lost.

Lovely atmosphere, great burger. Worth a visit. We'd planned to stay here but ended up going for a cheaper b n b, so we came here for dinner so we got to experience it and we were so happy we visited. Really good service too.

The food was hit and miss both with quality and description. The chocolate mousse was actually a hot pudding with a molten inside. While it looked nice was not what I wanted. It was more of a fondant. The service was okay. Everyone was polite but I don't think I saw anyone actually smile. Definitely not worth the price.

Very nice location, reasonable parking. Good menu and wine choice with interesting specials. Atmospheric dining room with attentive staff. 8/10 homemade burger, great chips, reasonable sole, good duck. Very pleasant host.

Just happened to stop for lunch at the Porch House pub and decided to get the last room available. It turned out to be the smallest room in the house and perfect for us. Tiny but oh so cute and we felt like we were in Hobbit heaven. Great view, great location, great price and very comfortable.

We booked the private dining room for a birthday lunch. It was fabulous. The food and service was second to none. Georgia helped so much with the menu choices and I was thrilled that it was Georgia overseeing the lunch. Having the sitting room was such a bonus, making the whole afternoon incredibly special, for a BIG birthday. I would... More
