Food was good, although steak a bit chewy. Plenty of food. Arrived 5 minutes before and our table wasn't ready. My partner was on crutches but the waiter still told us to go back down the stairs into the bar to get a drink. After this staff were helpful, but not enough of them and slightly stressed. Always had good...

Visited the Clothiers on Saturday for lunch and cannot say enough good things about the experience. It was quiet but the staff were friendly and helpful. As for the food, what can i say? It was lovely and all of us enjoyed our meals. There were five of us which included two children who both ate every last bit. I...

Let's be clear about it, staff have to be trained, and frequently have to learn on the job. That said, we met a young waitress who was inexperienced and left to get on with it. Not a good sign, and one which was to prove awesomely accurate. There were four of us - she had three menus. No apologies, but...

We eat here regularly and the food is excellent. The Sunday Lunches are fantastic, with a great choice of vegetables, we like to eat in the restaurant as serving dishes brought to the table. The bar food is great too and very reasonable with meals at two for £12 that are always good quality and great portions - staff are...

Stayed one night and really enjoyed the meal. We didn't have the '2 meals for £12' offer but ate from the menu and I have to say (and told the staff) that it was very good experience. The belly pork was perfect and the veg fresh and cooked right and quickly. The waiter came back from the kitchen to advise...

Nice pub with a good atmosphere. Excellent food at reasonable price with fairly fast service. Rooms very comfortable and clean. I've stayed there a couple of times now and would recommend. Good size car park and beer garden but gets very busy on warm evenings.

Stopped here in the middle of our day out for lunch. Not totally inspiring from the outside but had heard good reviews. Warm and welcoming inside , prompt bar service and a great range on the menu. There is a specials board offering 2 meals for £12. We had two of the meals and they were gorgeous. Quickly arrived ,...

The pub was ideally placed to allow us a pleasant stroll into the town, and within easy reach of some of the local villages like Nailsworth and Painswick. Our room was a lovely size, and was decorated in a very calming beach theme, including driftwood mirror frames. Although the room is above a pub and restaurant, after 11pm, there is...

On a day out with our new dog we were passing, & were happy to find that dogs are welcome in the bar area. We ordered food which was excellent (bubble & squeak highly recommended) clearly freshly home made & set us up for a great afternoons walking nearby. Would definitely come again!

Our room was above the bar, the barman did give us options of other rooms as it was a busy Friday night. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, giving advice on the best places to go in town and surrounding areas. The food was very good, nothing was too much bother for them.
