#4 of 12 B&Bs / Inns in Winchcombe
Eat, drink and flop in historic Winchcombe. To some it's a pub, others a hotel. Situated at the heart of the village of Winchcombe near Cheltenham, this ‘restaurant with rooms’ (there are 11) offers the very best of British food and an excellent wine list. Visit the wine shop and try the famous sausages in the Wine & Sausage eating rooms. A perfect place to visit or stay if you love walking or visiting Cheltenham races. Each of the 8 en-suite rooms are individually styled and some have feature beds. In the Wine & Sausage eating rooms located on the inns ground floor they are passionate about real food, the great and simple British dishes that we grew up with. Ingredients are carefully sourced and wherever possible use local and regional farmers, growers, fishermen, producers, brewers and even winemakers. Just a few metres away from the inn you will find the scenic Cotswold Way and Gloucestershire Way footpaths. The Inn is also very popular with cyclists and can help with routes around the area, especially via one or two other 'watering holes'. There's even a hosepipe for washing down muddy bikes. Winchcombe is an idyllic base for touring the Cotswolds and the White Hart is the perfect bolt hole close to the famous sporting and cultural festival town of Cheltenham.

Food was excellent, we stayed overnight and had lunch, dinner and breakfast here. Good value for money and a varied menu. We were walking around the Cotswolds and this was one of the best places we stayed. Pubs and restaurants are experiencing staff shortages everywhere but The White Hart we’re doing a good job despite a busy day

We had visited this pub before and had an excellent meal so we’re keen to come back. The food was perfect - 2 steaks and a bottle of Malbec £50. The steaks were cooked beautifully, never had one as good anywhere else. The only thing that let this place down was the service. It was much better on our last visit in 2019, this time is was inconsistent and the staff weren’t interested in serving us. There was one young waiter who was good, the rest made us feel like an inconvenience. Would still go back as excellent steaks are hard to come by!

1 star and that's pushing there luck. My mother's and my fiancee meals were STONE COLD when they came out seasonal vegetables means what's in season not garden peas also my fiancee is allergic to them and the waiter never said they were garden peas. When my father went to complain to one of the waiters he walked off and did not tell the manager my father had to leave half way into his meal to find manager will never return again and not recommend to anyone this public house is over priced and a joke thank you for ruining a special family evening

Don’t understand other reviews. We were made very welcome, despite staff shortages, the team worked their socks off and we felt the service was great. Good menu selection. Great pub food at reasonable prices. Thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere of the pub, staff very friendly and loved my meal.

Call in for a light lunch and as a result booked a table for an evening meal the following day. Good "Pub Grub" and beverages. Delightful staff. Recommended. There is a large outdoor seating area for meals during the day.
