Firstly apologies for the delay in writing this review. We stayed one night while on a visit to Portsmouth for a concert. Room Number 2 was allocated to us and it was nicely furnished, clean and fresh. All the advertised features were as the website. The bed was very comfortable. We received a warm welcome from the owner Andy. The...

Stayed here with friends last Saturday whilst seeing a gig at The Pyramids. Rooms simply furnished, en suite worked fine, beverage making facilities, TV etc. Quite area (in January) very close to the esplanade. Very pleasant host and a cracking breakfast. Will use it again.

This is a friendly family run business. It is very close to many of Portsmouth's attractions and within walking distance of the seafront. The room was clean and comfortable and the generous breakfast beautifully cooked. The hosts were very helpful.

This is a nice, comfortable, very pleasant no-frills B&B, really excellent value for the price. It’s clean and fresh and the host is friendly and helpful – even to the extent of getting my car out of a tight spot in the car park for me with no snarky comments. Do be warned about that car park. It’s tight enough...

Went this weekend to Portsmouth. Have started staying at family B&B's rather than big hotels as they seem to offer better value for money and a more personal atmosphere. Esk Vale was no exception, a great welcome, an early check in and free parking. The room was spotless and the breakfast was freshly made, hot and plenty of it. We...

The guest house was in a quiet area around 15 minutes walk from central Southsea. My room was newly furnished and clean but very small. Although the owner was not very helpful regarding my bike. I went before the breakfast was served however cereals and yoghurts were left out.

If you're looking for a place to stay in Portsmouth for a few days, don't look any further. This guest house is excellent base to explore Portsmouth. We stayed in family en-suite for 2 nights and were very happy with the services provided. Our room was spotlessly clean, beds were comfortable and breakfast also very good. Owners Andy & Valerie...

Small bedroom but clean and convenient. We appreciated the tea tray and the welcome. There is a private car park. It is well located, not far from the sea-side, We can walk into Portsmouth (about 20') along the sea and there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Very good breakfast.
