This hotel isnt new, but it is full of history and character which makes up for that. The room was a ok size, quite old, but did the job for the 3 of us. Bar was quiet, but was ok, and it seemed to do a lot of good bar food. It has a pool, which was closed when we...

Do you want to stay in another faceless chain hotel or do you fancy something different, with a bit of character? The Royal Maritime Hotel celebrates it's naval history. The hotel is like stepping back to an era that time forgot and you can sense that a lot went on in the hotel in times gone by. The restaurant and...

Stayed for a weekend bed and breakfast whilst attending a reunion.Last time I'd been in the club was 10 years ago and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. We stayed in a superior double room which was a good size and cleaned to a high standard usual tea and coffee making facilities, the room was quite warm but soon sorted...

A comfortable good value hotel with car parking close to city/dockside attractions. Being a Navy Club is has historical artefacts throughout the building. We had a very clean room with all facilities. Very friendly staff. A good quality breakfast with plenty of choice. We would certainly stay again.

I have first to say that staff were very pleasant and the price reasonable. Forget about parking outside but there is a very secure parking place across the road. The area is quiet which was good for someone new to the area. Lots of historic pubs. The club was fairly basic and undergoing renovation which was a pity but necessary....

We stayed at this hotel for a family wedding. The location is extremely good, the staff friendly, and the food in the restaurant was adequate although they did use microwaves a lot.The rooms are basic and a bit tired and could do with a bit of a refurb, they had started renovating the spa area, which was a disappointment as...

Let me start with the positives. All very friendly staff. Restaurant - dinner was carvery - all food was excellent and hot Restaurant staff all most friendly and attentive. Breakfast was all piping hot at 09.00 contrary to what has been posted on a recent posting and there was an excellent selection. Regrettably the hotel generally and room were very...

A hotel which is undergoing some refurbishment. Quite a lot of noise and mess. Have stayed before for work commitments so was aware of its shortcomings. Breakfast isn't very good. The hot choices were cold and dehydrated. I guess if you attend breakfast when breakfast starts at 0700 it would be ok but I didn't want to as I was...
