The hotel is situated at a Convenient distance to ferry terminal, the staff are helpful and friendly. However hotel has Probably not been refurbished since 80s, twisting staircase to most rooms, expensive for what it is, only paying for location.

Only stayed one evening as we were getting the cruise ship the next day. Staff were excellent, most accommodating and really friendly. The meal in the restaurant was excellent and the bed was the most comfortable my husband and I have had in a long, long time! It is a mish mash of stairs and corridors, which I personally think,...

Traveling in England alone for someone who is not too social american college student is not easy. I stayed at the Star Hotel last week for one night while in Southampton to watch soccer (Football). I felt welcome the moment I walked in the door until the time i dropped off my keys the next day. Check in was a...

My room was very hot, I went back to reception and asked to be changed, which I was without any problems. My new room was massive, two double beds, it was very comfy. The...

I paid for 2 nights in this hotel and wanted to leave after 5 minutes of entering our room, the hotel upon arriving was hot Because of heating on in the middle of August, went to our room where the smell of damp welcomed us, the corridor to our room had slanted floors, could hear everyone's televisions as we walked...

The hotel is an ideal location for the city centre with shopping and restaurants nearby. This is my 3rd or 4th time overnight in Southampton and will be very honest I usually stay in the Ibis at West Quay. Unfortunately they were fully booked on the date I needed. The staff at The Star I can not fault, but the...
