Needing a place to stay whilst visiting our son in halls at Southampton Uni, we wanted somewhere close to the station and Landguard Road was just a 5 min walk so spot on there. We were greeted by name which was nice and even though a little early were shown straight to our room, which was bright, spacious & clean....

As ever.... I was away with work. Now...weirdly B & B's aren't my favourite stay...except in Southampton. I've never had a bad one...and now Languard Lodge joins the list. Very welcoming...great warm rooms and well kitted out. Great breakfast in the morning too. No issues....

We were greeted with the owners first words, can I have your name and you need to pay! We were not made to feel welcome at all. They advertise off road parking but only have 3 spaces, we had to park across the road. We had a ground floor room, the windows did not open and it was really stuffy....

I stayed at Landguard Lodge recently for one night whilst working at Southampton General Hospital. Overall opinion - excellent. The area is a bit grim, but once you get off the main Shirley High Street into the side roads it's not too bad. The owner was very welcoming and extremely helpful, I needed a key to open the windows and...

Just a twenty minute stroll to the city centre a more affordable alternative that comes with a friendly welcome, adequate and comfortable rooms and a freshly cooked breakfast. What more do you really need?

I booked two rooms for my parents, myself and 2 sisters (we're all over 50). Our rooms were comfortable, both en-suite, and very clean. We ate the full English breakfast both mornings during our 2 night stay, which was freshly cooked and delicious. The B&B is within walking distance of The Mayflower, and the City Centre. John, the proprietor was...

Stayed there the night before a cruise. It is very convenient for Southampton Cruise Terminal. £6 in a taxi to the terminal. Clean spacious room with flat screen TV. Pleasant host. Lovely cooked breakfast. Would definately stay there again.

A little dated and lacking in character, Landguard Lodge is set in an unprepossessing and decidedly average area of Southampton populated by other B&B establishments. Room was clean and tidy but the bedding a little 80's in style. Bed was comfy although a little soft for my personal taste, but I still slept well. The private shower room was very...
