We had the set lunch, starters of beetroot and goat curd salad, salmon rillette, mains of sea bream and haunch of venison, all beautifully presented. A very good "amuse bouche" of carrot veloute, topped with a carrot crisp, started proceedings. On checking the bill later, we noticed that the Aperitifs were excessively overcharged for a glass of Sauvignon at £17,...

A friend and I visited Lainston House following a spontaneous decision to go for champagne afternoon tea over the Christmas period. The staff were very willing to help with any request and went out of their way to serve us with drinks prior to tea service. Everything was immaculate, the food was lovely and the setting was perfect - a...

We came here for a special family celebration and met with Michelle prior to the event to discuss our stay. Every effort was made to ensure that our lunch in the Avenue dining room was perfect and her suggestion to have a circular table for 8 was a great idea as we were all able to talk to eachother (as...

A really pretty hotel just outside of the city, felt more like a boutique country escape than a city break. Room was spacious, immaculatley clean and cosy. The breakfast was top notch with fantastic pastries. Staff were very helpful and unobtrusive and the whole nights stay was memorable. Quite a romantic venue also.

I have wanted to stay at this hotel for some time, following recommendations from others who have attended weddings, had afternoon tea there etc. I spotted an offer on Secret Escapes and we stayed there for one night the week before Christmas so that we could incorporate our stay with a visit to the Christmas market in Winchester. We had...

The food was superb and visually the presentation was excellent, it is true that one eats with one’s eyes before one’s mouth! Our room was very well furnished and possessed everything that one could wish for, however the bathroom was a triumph of design over function with a very wet shower (literally) the room looked a little like the Somme...

My boyfriend and I spent a night here on New Years Day 2016 and had a fantastic time. It is a truly beautiful property with each of the rooms being unique and having a huge amount of character. We stayed in the Delft room which was stunning and had a beautiful view out onto the mile. The bed in particular...

This is a favourite lunch venue when visiting our family in Hampshire. We have also had a number of private functions at this Hotel and it never fails to impress. The food is excellent and the setting is wonderful especially in the summer where you can eat on the terrace if the weather permits. Service is always impeccable. Stunning.
