Having looked on Trip Advisor for a good venue for Afternoon Tea in the area, we settled on the Castle House Hotel. The food was of good quality, particularly the sandwiches of which there was a varied selection although the sizes varied considerably! The scones were soft and warm (although only one each), and there was plenty of clotted cream...

A week ago my husband and I stayed at the Castle House Hotel overnight, on our way to Wales. The location was very convenient, quiet and at the same time within walking distance of the Cathedral and the very centre of town. A bell boy came out to welcome us and point to their nearby hidden car park, after quickly...

I would like to echo Brian B's comments as I agree with everything he says! We also stayed in the Ballingham Suite with the Sunday night £90 rate (if you have a 3 course dinner in the restaurant) which turned out to be excellent value for money. We had a mouth watering dinner including mackerel/crab, steak, chocolate terrine, and a...

My wife and I stayed for three nights in the Ballingham Suite (room 17) on the ground floor of Castle House, Hereford, and were enormously impressed by the high quality of the amenities, the accommodation, the location, the food and above all of the staff. Their stock answer to any question beginning "Could we have...?" is invariably "Of course you...

We had the pleasure of staying here for two nights in early October and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were in a standard double in the building adjacent to the main hotel. The room was just lovely! It was well appointed and very comfortable with views across the back garden towards the park and river. Breakfast was included and was very...

Spent one night at the Castle House Hotel with my husband. Room was lovely and clean, very comfortable bed, everything you needed. Nothing to much trouble for staff. Breakfast was very nice, best I've had in a long time. Hereford town was a few minutes walk away where we spent a lovely few hours roaming around the side street and...

M y Daughter and myself came to this hotel, in a very fortunate situation,as my Daughter had won a weekend away in a competetion. What a lovely Hotel this is. Staff were pleasant all the time. Surroundings were beautiful. Close by to the 'duckpond', and to top it all, we didnt have a bedroom, but a suite. Needless to say,...

This is a wonderful find in in interesting small town. It is in a warren of small streets and has an annexe which is a town house just a few steps away. Our room was in the annex and the best hotel room that I have stayed in for a long time. It was large, comfortable and had a garden...

Its rare that you can find nothing to complain about (if you try hard enough!) but this just about ticked every box. Well appointed, lovely room/small suite (no.12) overlooking the old moat, excellent food in the restaurant where bar and restaurant menus were available - they often aren't. A nice touch was the small decanter of sherry in the room...

We had a fantastic room at this very well located hotel in the quiet centre of Hereford. The suite was huge, with many good touches; fresh flowers and fruit and a carafe of sherry, comfortable soft furnishings and nice views. The food was good, a seasonal menu with well presented and cooked dishes. We did pay a lot of money...
