Just metres from Canterbury's medieval West Gate, this charming building dates back to 1403. A former coaching inn, it offers free WiFi and free parking, 2 minutes' walk from the city centre. The Falstaff still retains many original features, including oak beams and an open log fire. Each room has a TV for guests to use, and facilities for making tea and coffee. The hotel offers a cooked to order full English breakfast as well as self service buffet option. The bar offers a range of wines and variety of exclusive cocktails. Canterbury West Rail Station is a 3-minute walk from the building. The city's spectacular Norman cathedral can be reached in less than 10 minutes on foot.

Our second stay at the falstaff. 3 years ago it was so different cosy & quiet but it’s had a makeover & now the bar is packed at night. Also it’s a lot busier during the day. It’s very cosy. Sections with comfy sofas. The staff are very nice polite & helpful & it’s central to all

I’ve never complained before about a hotel. And I’m not hiding behind a keyboard I said the same to hotel reception this morning when handing in my review card that was left in our room.
The room was clean although couldn’t swing a cat in it! WiFi didn’t work except for about 5

Near to town centre. Parking no problem though hard to find entrance. Sat Nav says to go to front door but car park round side street. Breakfast good. Room ok very dark and I think carpet a little dusty round edges.
Overall a good place to stay to be near everything

We stayed at the Falstaff mid week to attend our daughter's graduation. Finding the car park wasn't easy as down a narrow passage between two buildings, we were lucky we got a parking space. Check in was easy and the staff very pleasant, even taking us to our room in the attics

is the car park sign posted? if not what road do we go down to access it?
Not posted. As you drive to the Canterbury old gate, facing it turn left. It’s just around the corner to the end of the building. Left into the lot.

you have answered a parking question with first come 1st served but that is hardly conducive to an enjoyable stay. One doesn't want to turn up and then have to flaff about parking, especially at these prices. when one reserves a room a park space should also be reserved if requested. to do it any other way e.g. pot luck is a cop out, perhaps Falstaff don't care about repeat business but I don't care to be hunting for parking on arrival
Dear bikarman Thank you for your comments. We are one of the few city centre hotels in Canterbury to have its own car park and this is free to our residents. We do not reserve spaces for guests. There is also a public car park in North Lane, a few metres away from the hotel. With kind regards The Falstaff in Canterbury

Do you have a luggage storage room? We are interested in taking an afternoon train after we check out and visit cathedral and want to store our bags in hotel
There was a locked room where the hotel stored our luggage as we had arrived too early to check in.
