We stayed here for our graduation and have stayed once previously. The previous visit also was not great and we were offered a free room upgrade which, to my knowledge we didn't receive this visit (unless it was an upgrade from a broom cupboard). When checking in I was asked to put my card in the machine but was told...

I stayed with friends at this hotel for 10 days in March and had a really good experience. The room was perfectly adequate for a vacation where we planned to spend little time in the room. The staff was friendly and helpful. A full English breakfast buffet is served each morning and I thought it was pretty good. The real...

The good: Location near the center of town, a large enough television and working but not fast wifi. The bad: This hotel does not have air conditioning. Usually that might not be a problem, but on a warm night with the windows open there was constant loud noise until 2 am from what could have been someone taking out the...

Dear Sarah H, Thank you for staying with us, I am sorry however you had a disrupted night. Although the hotel is perfectly situated in the city centre it is still very unusual to have that sort of noise. There are no deliveries or collection services occurring at 2am for any of the local businesses so I cannot imagine what...

We booked two rooms at the Falstaff. They are undergoing extensive renovations, and are keeping the noise and dust down nicely. No full English breakfast until the kitchen is done - so be prepared to eat breakfast elsewhere. Rooms were comfortable and clean, and WiFi coverage was good too.

I have visited this establishment on many occasions but this visit was particularly poor. I was placed in the old building above where the renovations were taking place. Room No.19. The price was expensive considering there was no breakfast facilities available although there was an offer of Continental Breakfast. This room is situated facing the main road with scaffolding outside....

We stayed here for 2 nights for our wedding anniversary, we chose this hotel as It was close to the centre. We were informed by the hotel that refurbishments would be taking place to the bar and restaurant areas during our stay. We were upgraded to a superior room which was lovely, however there was scaffolding outside our window (on...

Dear 101Shaz, Thank you for your recent stay with us and congratulations on your anniversary. I am really pleased you enjoyed the location of the hotel, the room upgrade and also found the staff helpful and friendly. Today the scaffold has been taken down as the re-decorating at the front of the hotel is now complete. The remainder of the...

Having booked directly with the hotel by phone and receiving very good customer service I was feeling very confident about staying at the Falstaff even though they had informed me about the building work. However, after reading some of the negative reviews I was becoming a bit concerned that maybe the stay might not be as enjoyable as hoped. I...

We booked in for one night after a touring holiday of France & Spain. When we booked we were advised that there was no meal option as work was being done on the kitchen. When we arrived all the front of the building was closed off and scaffolded. We entered around the back to find the car park full of...
