This hotel is in centre of Canterbury with parking. Perfect as we were going to the theatre, just a short stroll from hotel. Booked for friends. 3 enviable rooms. Unfortunately one room had a considerably smaller bed than confirmed. The staff, although polite and friendly, could do with more customer service training as we received mixed messages and lack of...

I stayed at the Abode Canterbury last weekend for one night. Interestingly, I spent 5 years as a student in Canterbury and back in those days, the County Hotel (as it was), was the most expensive, sophisticated hotel in town. Of course it still is, but no way, would I as a student have imagined that fast-forward 20+ years I'd...

The Sat Nav code enabled us to drive straight to the hotel car park (I can not understand how other reviewers get it wrong - probably entering the hotel postcode which is different to the car park). Quite clearly states the postcodes on the booking form! I must point out that the entrance to the hotel is on the pedestrianised...

We were very lucky in that we were upgraded (when I expressed concerns over negative comments regarding work to heating system) to third floor room at no extra charge - all i can say is wow an enormous room with a heavenly large free standing bath and great shower. The hotel breakfast not as good as one would hope, but...

Thank you for your comments, I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at the hotel. I have asked the housekeeping manager to check all the coffee sachets today as this should not have happened. We do charge for parking at the hotel which i do think is reasonable as we lease the land used for the 2nd...

We drove around Canterbury for ages trying to find the carpark so we telephoned the hotel to ask for directions. Spoke to a young lady who was quite dismissive before telling us the postcode for carpark - i.e. different postcode from the hotel itself which is on a pedestrianised street. The postcode for the carpark is CT1 2NR. Parking is...

Over rated. It wasn't that special. I'd passed by so many times and thought it looked gorgeous outside. It's distinctly average. The decor in the corridors is dull and grubby. I paid £120+ for just a room (view of brick walls out of the window); Drinks in the bar were expensive. Hair clip (not mine) onthe floor by the bed....

Thank you for your feedback. Our room rates are based on availability within the city and rooms are available from £85 to £155 for the category you booked. We are upgrading the air conditioning on the 1st floor at the moment when complete the corridors will be brighter in appearance. I am sorry the room attendant missed the hair clip...

Another great night at the Abode. Service is always very good, and the beds are always very comfortable. Element of feeling quite special in some of their rooms. Only let down in this hotel is that the gym is lacking in any really equipment to do anything, no pool, and the water temperature for showers is often cold. Otherwise another...

Lovely Easter weekend stay at the Abode. A nice relaxing champagne bar and wonderful staff. Initial first day/night problems with our hotel room with dark bathroom, missing light bulbs, broken door and no hot water in the morning but that was rapidly sorted out by the Duty Manager Nathan and his team. We were moved to another room, more comfortable...

The ground floor and main areas were very stylish and welcoming. However, although we were in one of the more 'comfortable' rooms, it did not match up to any 4 star accomadation I have ever been to before. Thanks to the extremely old (well it felt old) mattress which was lumpy, hard with a huge dip in the right-hand side...

Thank you for your comments, I am very sorry that you had an uncomfortable nights sleep. All the hotel mattresses were changed over the past 1-2 years during our planned refurbishment, I will of course check the mattress today as from your description their must be a fault or damage to the mattress. Thank you for your kind comments relating...
